I have a good friend from Norway (who really loves her country) that was a Scandinavian Airlines stewardess and representative for many years (she has two blonde daughters.. mid twenties). When they come to visit the NYC metro area and stay at my house, it's called American wood.

/I have no idea why my wife stays so close to me when they visit!

I can agree with norway. Look at their Criminal Justice system, theoretically if you rape her, you get sent here (new window) seriously what is the downside?

How good must it be for non criminals?

Well, they only have a tenth the prisoners per 100,000 people the US does, so they can splurge a little.

And the downside? Uh, freedom to come and go as you please not mean anything to you?

Socialist countries are principally concerned with making sure people are living happy lives. Capitalist countries are principally concerned with making sure they don't become socialist countries.

I hear that the Norse would rather import lots of violent Muslims to share their wealth and women with, than allow back any of the grandchildren of those who left Norway for the United States last century.

Not to mention the food and booze is extremely expensive and farmland is scarce, and also probably expensive.

Yup. Looks that way.

Interesting country. Love what they decided to do with their oil wealth, which basically let them beat the oil curse.

That's my point. We're doing this well with a population many, many times that of any of those European nations.

Small populations are easier to manage and spoil, assuming your country isn't a complete basket case in the first place.

Not many engineers here on Fark (that admit to it, anyway). Except in 9/11 threads, in which case everyone is either a structural or aeronautical engineer.

I'm an engineer, but I don't see how knowing how to drive a train helps with graph-finding-behinding.

Wow you have managed to be here since 2007 and not get kicked for that kind of idiocy?

The future must be a scary place for you as the UN is projecting a lot more melanin getting into top lists than you may be able to handle.

Since trains don't need steering, their hands are free to rotate the pages once it is pointed out the graph is upside down.
