And not a fark was given that day.

It'd be hilarious if they lost to New Mexico State.

Didn't they beat them a couple of years ago? Eternity keeps getting shorter and shorter. I guess I'm immortal!

wow, really tested positive for drugs doesn't keep a player out of the next game?

And the spread is still 34 points.

This is good for...Georgia Tech.

I think GT would win anyways. Tech's run game and their time of possession alone are enough to better UGA this year.

Pratty: It'd be hilarious if they lost to New Mexico State.

UGA is about to the point of picking kids out of the stands at running back and the Aggies have the 15th ranked passing game in the country.

/it's not really gonna happen
//but it would be awesome

The asterisk isn't for performance enhancing drugs, it's for playing guys who they shouldn't have. SEC rules say that if they were busted before the Fla game then the suspension should have been for that game, not the cupcake game the following week.

Not that it matters. Richt will say they were tested before Fla but results weren't in till Monday (could even be true) Ga will close ranks behind him and that's all she wrote.

This is the height of retardation. The on-site test is basically a red flag. It always has to be sent away for an off-site test, because it doesn't do anything other than scream "HEY, CHECK THIS URINE." Nothing is ever done until the off-site test confirms that there was a positive test and what it was for (because that affects the length of suspension). All Georgia would've known before the game was that these three were facing some kind of suspension that varies based on the substance.

Crowell is a d-bag, but 10 of the 12 SEC schools don't suspend at all for a first positive test, and many have the option of not suspending on a second positive test.

Yeah, it was like that last year and the year before that as well, we see how that worked out for them didnt we?

Yeah, UGA and richt are one of the few teams who suspend for this, in bama or florida we wouldnt have even heard about it until the NFL combines for the kids, and all the conspiracy people can give it a rest, they may have tested positive that triggered more stringent testing on Monday that led to the suspensions. The opponent means nothing, richt has proven that in the past.

so a bunch of 18 year olds smoked some weed in their first year of college? Not sure how this helped them win at all against Florida. With this logic I would have been an NFL HOFer by the end of my Junior year.

Yeah thats my point too, whats worse is they supposedly just smoked that weed imitator that was sold as legal weed but now has been made illegal in georgia, I think if we were to have a nationwide referendum pot would be made legal, its less harmful than alcohol.

the other stuff called bath salts isn't legal weed. it's either weed or it's not.

that bath salts shiat, you'd be better off taking some tide and smoking it.

no there's a synthetic weed that's popular now. i'm surprised that UGA tests for the synthetic weed.
/CSB: found a mint can full of synthetic weed last year in the snow at the park
//still wouldn't have smoked it even if it wasn't wet

My favorite part of parents in denial is this part of the article:

"You can smell the chemical in it but it's a potpourri that these kids are smoking. It's crazy. I'm sure the Spice had a lot to do with it, but he also inhaled a lot of plastic," Ray Rice said.

Yeah, the plastic probably caused the burns in his lungs, but since everything has to be hidden they use every day items to smoke it out of, hell its why we used potatoes and apples to make pipes, I mean why others used those items, not me Im an angel.

Please, richt knew his job was on the line and would have played them if they had killed a man on national tv.

Bet it's got to be annoying for these coaches when something has harmless and inevitable as a freshman in college smoking weed can cost them their job (star player smokes weed, team loses, coach gets fired). I know I'd be pissed.

4 times in 21 years... it might be a bit of hyperbole but its pretty true.

My brother went to UGA so I love laughing at him year in and year out, especially when Texas is better (which is like every year except last year) and he whines about how hard the SEC is, like Richt's clowns wouldn't be a bottom feeder in the big 12 either.

2011-11-03 08:35:21 AM
No, they are in trouble for no praying in a circle in the middle of the field before/after they smoked.

2011-11-03 08:37:55 AM
Richt's thug squad just can't seem to keep out of trouble.

At least we don't have rape or burglary charges this year.

Yeah I think he does but that's not his style, he has shown previously in even bad seasons he will suspend star players before big games.

I call Richt on a lot of bullshiat and suspect play calling/loyalty but this is an area where I will believe him.

2011-11-03 08:57:42 AM
All these SEC teams specifically schedule paycheck games late in the season so that they can use up their inevitable player suspensions on them. I remember Clemson (ACC team in SEC country) suspending half their squad against a Temple squad that went 0-11 late in the year.

Well despite Texas run the past few years they sucked quite a bit in the 80s-90s, and I fully believe if not for richts loyalty to a terrible defensive coach he would have had at least one NC by now.

I fully credit him for a lot of the awesomeness that was Florida State football in the 90's. But using talent that is someone else's job to control is much different than having to be responsible for keeping these kids out of trouble.

The football team's 68 percent graduation rate was second in the SEC, behind only Vanderbilt. (new window)

Ummm yeah their starter played Saturday, didn't do much good since he was sacked 6 times I think, if the offense got anything going they could be a good team. As it is they are middle of the pack sec.

Those are also last year's numbers. Here are the graduation numbers for this year. (Also for aTm and Mizzou, article is jumping the gun a bit on that one.)

Red line is the national average. Numbers still aren't great, especially for S.Carolina (who is using the clerical error defense), but Georgia has been passed by several other schools in the race for '2nd to Vandy'.

I became a Texas fan after 99 because I find it pathetic to root for a school you didnt go to (or at least parents/family went to) and hey, I didnt care about sports in high school - so history starts there.

Unfortunately for you some of us did go to school/have connections with the sport before your short attention span and we all remember Texas sucking for almost two decades.

I was there for all of the suck, and the suckiest of the suck was only from about '86-'97, with the '90, '95 and '96 teams being exempt. You could throw in mid-'84 on as far as national title contention goes, but losing to the Ags was what really defined it for us.

/was there for the 42-10 loss in College Station
//was also there for the UT-Baylor game in '89, 50-7 Bears, generally regarded as the program's low point
