Seriously, it's not that bad if, as a farker above noted, it does not rule your life. I give it maybe an hour a week, sum total, unless I'm on a jag with friends. Several friends from prepubescence and I have reconnected, which is kinda cool. I learned early on that the ones that felt the need to report every minute of their day were the ones to discard. "Noon. Ate a sandwich! 1:30. Felt digestion occur. 5:00 OMG bathroom! 7:00 Snacktime!" blah blah blah. I sorted out those who I gave a good GD about pretty quickly. I might "like" what they have to say in passing and that is the extent of my interaction. On the cool side, my best friend from age 8 to 12 I reconnected with. We have brief exchanges, and I enjoy them. I'm okay with getting a quick blip if something interesting occurs....I "like" and move along unless I want to discuss. Don't shun FB till you've tried it. In small doses, I for one, am perfectly okay with it.

My brother did the same to me because I mocked Mass Effect, except it was full deletion. Another brother has outright blocked me and my dad for reasons unknown, but he lives in an apartment complex, so I can't really burn his place down. Also, I don't really give a shiat.
