This is truly an awesome list. And, of course, Arena wins.

"Explosively masculine?" Why not just add a little rainbow off that headline while you're at it i09?

1.) Assume the fetal position.
2.) Roll gently in the general direction of your foe.
3.) Annihilate.

biatches get pregnant just watching James Tiberius Kirk do that shiat.

J.T. Kirk has them lined up 8 across and 25 deep in the passageway outside his Cabin of LOVE (Classic Trek J.T. Kirk, that is, that snot-nosed punk in the new version has yet to reach that epic level of studliness).

List Failes without this. (new window.)

Oh come on, we all know JT Kirk's only real opponent was when he had to fight himself in Star Trek 6.

I bet you used that technique on all the bullies in the schoolyard, you manly man.

Well it certainly wasn't the time Kirk executed 500 defenseless Andorians before disposing of their bodies in mass grave. That was pretty damned craven.

After that punch, your free to do anything. ANY. THING. And Kirk would get away with it too.

I'm a little disappointed that Kirk never disproved that.

First, let me start off by acknowledging my spelling fail.

Secondly, nothing catches a bully off guard when he asks you for your lunch money, and you tell him you could give him much much more. Lead with a caress, sensual kiss, then finish flail your arms at his face and run away. If the flail-punching doesn't work and he kicks your ass, at least you got a nice kiss out of the deal.

But that's like the 3rd (or 4th) time he did that.

If Captain Pike can make that thing beep for "Yes" and "No", he can make it send Morse code, and could thus testify fully (if slowly).

was hoping the included the "leap through the air assuming the free fall position, and hope you tackle them at the waist" kata... Kirk used that one ALOT, normally jumping from what appears to be about 2-3 feet to far away to be effective.

Yeah, but that one had the best jokes.

I don't see why they don't use some of the more exotic races for things like movies. I mean you had Apollo fighting against the Enterprise once. Where is the rest of pantheon and when are they going shake up the universe. Have them come out of retirement.

What happened to armas? Sure he was on an uninhabited planet but someone must have swung by besides troi. Where are the Titans that he was sloughed off from?

Oh and the best battles are where the captains outwit their opponents rather than using something as crude as a fist.

That was his drill thrall. He had to do it! HE HAD TO!

They missed the "Flying kick followed by stealthily pulling a piece of PVC pipe that's for some reason embedded in the engineering console and beating the superhuman unconscious" (new window) move. It's a classic. Bonus: KAAAHHHNNNNNNNN!!! is involved.

Really, how is it that the hyper-smart, super-sensory-y Kahn managed to miss Kirk doing that? Sometimes it's almost like TV differs from real life.

Morse code wasn't taught at the Academy?

Wouldn't matter if it was: He had months to learn it.

I should point out, too, that it takes perhaps a week to learn it, maybe two, at a basic level.
