Oh Lord, make me sober -- but not yet.

Marijuana abuse?

Did they let it get moldy or something?

That's terrible. Without Pot I never would have been able to tolerate high school.

learn them to be kind to the marijuana.

I think the Jesuits would probably be cool with it.

Doc Daneeka: I think the Jesuits would probably be cool with it.

Um no, the Jesuits are pretty un-cool with it. One of my classmates was booted out the last week of senior year when he was caught with some weed on school property.

Weekes said both public and private schools can be searched by police, "but it has to be based on reasonable suspicion of drug possession. St. Thomas Aquinas' routine searches would likely be challenged as to legality, and that also may be why the children were not arrested."

Wait, what? I came to be like, "how is this legal?" but it looks like they already know it's illegal. I'm pretty sure the 4th Amendment protects you against unreasonable searches, not being arrested due to an unreasonable search.

Arkanaut: Oh Lord, make me sober -- but not yet.

Came for this; found it done in one; leaving happy.

Be outright encouraged at St. Trinian's.

Alumnus - class of '82.

This is of course not news when it comes to any HS parking lot anywhere. I can only guess that there was some expectation of student perfection given the strict conduct rules there.... heh

Yeah, I was making a (weak) joke about the Jesuits' tendency to be a bit more liberal than the other Catholic orders.

I feel safer already. That weed could have carjacked some poor innocent student in a dark corner of the lot come nightfall.

/but it would never kill them

Seems saner than my high school. One of the kids showed up to the homecoming dance drunk, got caught (he was not being belligerent, but it's easy to spot a drunk) and they expelled him.

I've got no idea about Malachi's or Augustine's, but you'd be expelled at King's.

Not news if you are from Fort Lauderdale, except that all they found was weed. Can the dogs smell pills?

This would not have happened at St. Khizr's either.

St. Augustine? You bet your ass. Rich or poor, black or white, I'm convinced that damn near all the herb that flows through Florida is channeled through St. Johns County first.

Having worked in both public and private schools I can tell you from experience: Private schools can search any thing they want. If they ask the cops to come in and search they can do so much more easily in private schools.

It's along the lines of "by choosing to go here you agree to play by our rules. If you don't like it, there's the door we're keeping your tuition money."

An assistant principal was so annoyed by an unshaven student he put him in a closet with a razor and said, "Dry shave in the dark"

If he wanted to keep a kid in detention it was for "PMO" your son "pissed me off"

If your hair wasn't 1" above your collar you got $5 to go down the street and get a trim from the barber college.

They can search your facebook, (if it's public or they get a friend of yours to view your page)

TheMadChaosopher: Wait a minute!

I have been told repeatedly that the reason I (as a tax paying adult citizen) cannot legally buy some weed at the liquor store and smoke it in my home, is. Because the CHILDREN will overpower me, smoke my weed and overdose and die and America will crumble to ashes.

You mean to tell me the CHILDREN ALREADY HAVE WEED?!?!

hehehehhehehehehehhehehehehhe :)

FTA: The dog "alerted" for drugs five times and approximately 8 grams of marijuana was seized from two vehicles,

So a 40% success rate is good enough for an illegal search? Awesome.

4 people caught, 5 alerts.....4 out of 5 = 40%. what?

The dogs may also be alerting to the smell of marijuana that was recently moved and/or smoked.
