They play a lot of golf. they've got practice at keeping grass green

Stop complaining - you've now got oceanfront property!

You would think that it would be hard to buy insurance with an unprotected 100 foot drop 10 feet from your back door, but hey, as long as they take their knives away!

I am confused. My grass stays green unless there is lots of sun and it gets too dry. That rarely happens where I live, and it never happens in Wales......

Maybe it has something to do with that cliff area not being stable enough to support so many Alabama Tornado Attracters.

FTFA:
"Coastguards at Mumbles, Swansea confirmed a security guard at the park called on Monday evening to report coastal erosion."

I never could understand those guys.

Don't build your house park your trailer on the edge of a cliff.

So, our southern white trash has invaded Wales...who knew?

Oh, and "Vale of Glamorgan". Try saying that three times quickly without sounding vaguely Scottish.

Welsh language...same as Scottish Gaelic...only different.

This happened in Edmonton a few years back. People built near a cliff at the edge of the river and of course the land gives way. I think some houses were lost and others are now too close to the edge. People are suing the city for letting them build there. Idiots all around.

BurnShrike: Don't build your house park your trailer on the edge of a cliff.

TFA said they were 13' from the edge before. I was genuinely surprised they were allowed to be that close to begin with. In Texas, you have to build several hundred feet back from the shore and, if erosion occurs and moves the shore closer to you, your property is condemned.

I blame those Welsh bastards for saddling us with the auxiliary verb "to do" and for our over-reliance on the present progressive.

Had the same thing happen over there. Except the dumb shiats wanted tax payers to foot the bill for there homes. Because they were stupid enough to build on a cliff.

I'm from Wales and yes, our language is silly. If silly was a Welsh word it wouldn't be pronounced silly. 'Double L' means 'spit everywhere'.

That is some nice real estate for a trailer park.

Is it true that both dwarfs AND elves come from Wales, or just the dwarfs? Middle Earth can be so confusing.

Just kidding about blaming the Welsh for 'to do' and the present progressive. The history is more complicated than that, but this IS a thread about Wales, so there you have it... ;)

senzasord: Wait, so other countries than the US have poor white trash?

Let's be fair here, our "poor white trash" are just average Americans who happen to live in trailers, we just feel it's ok to make fun of them because their house is small. This entire country is essentially the "white trash" of the world. Trailer denizens are known for being boorish, uneducated slobs... that's 75% of the nation.

Of course, but, again, that isn't who you're looking at here.

The vast majority of static caravans in the UK are budget holiday homes, rather than permanent residences. Usually the owner will use the property for a few weeks per year, letting it out at other times. They tend to be used by older couples with pets and families whose children are either too numerous or too young for foreign holidays. Social class varies depending on area; some of the sites in the Lakes and Peak District are relatively 'posh' with log cabins in lieu of or as well as trailers.

Green Dye.

/Not joking. We did this at the golf course I worked at. Apparently, it not only keeps the grass green, but its really good for the grass too.

The ruling on the field was "teetering due to rockfall."

I'm also confused. I've lived in various climates, but I've never lived anywhere where the grass dies in Autumn.

And don't forget, those on the edge paid big money for the scenic view. Wonder if the rent was based on how far from the cliff edge you were. IF that was the case, they owe big time!
