The Matrix (again)

Yeah, great song. Nice to see a YouTube video with a mix of cool visuals and a good song.

I'm sure whoever created it was just itching to use some ridiculous techno song as music, I'm glad that they avoided that urge.

I haven't seen the video yet, but it better have Taxi Driver in there.

//could probably make a whole youtube video of Scorsese shots

2011-11-02 10:03:53 AM
The list is missing the best one of all: The guy falling into the skylight from the original Poseidon Adventure.

2011-11-02 10:05:57 AM
They should have lingered a bit more on 30 Days of Night. One of my all time favorite aerial shots.

Reynald: 2:10 Unbreakable

Damn! Kickin myself for not getting that one. Easily one of my favorite super hero/comic book movies (albeit not based on an existing hero or comic)

2011-11-02 10:31:58 AM
Weird selections from movies well-known for their God's-eye-view shots:

Vertigo is there (0:50), but not the famous "vertigo effect" as Scottie looks down the stairwell.
West Side Story is there (2:35), but not the famous "straight down" views of NYC at the beginning (instead they include the similar shot from I Am Legend at 0:04).

/At least Busby Berkeley is in there

2011-11-02 10:33:38 AM
Got the Shawshank Redemtion in there but not the Tim Robbins freedom in the rain pullback God shot.

I recognized it only because that movie sacred the be-jeebus out of me. "I like your house."

1:14 Gangs of New York
2:22 Blues Brothers
3:34 Taxi Driver

2:28 may have been War of the Worlds, but I'm not sure.

In college one of my engineer professors had a rule: If you did not include the units of measurement on your calc he would assume it was furlong/fortnight (kind of stupid, it being solely velocity but whatever). In dynamics lab I converted all the of acceleration amounts to furlong/fortnight^2. I got an F.

PattyMcG: 2:16 I wish I knew 'cause that looks cool as fark

I mentioned it above--30 Days of Night. And it is cool as f*ck. Best vampire movie I've seen recently. Danny Huston kicks ass in it.

2011-11-02 11:50:31 AM
Neat montage! It was fun to try to place the shots, though there were a fair number I didn't recognize. Surprised, though, that the shot at the end of the Cat People sequence in Inglourious Basterds didn't make the cut.

That's awesome. If I was a teacher of any kind I would institute a rule like that.

Iceberg659: Anyone want to take a stab at listing all of the movies?

Slick OJ reference, missed the porch scene, was that on tape?

2011-11-02 12:41:19 PM
What is the knifing scene at :33, and the bloody footprints at 1:20?

2011-11-02 02:08:57 PM
Toward the end:
Bruce Willis from RED and Sixth Sense

2011-11-02 03:05:06 PM
Recurring themes:

- bathroom stalls
- killers dragging bodies
- the "soul leaving the body" pull-back after someone dies, or at funerals

2011-11-02 03:07:59 PM

You know, I usually dislike the thrown together montage videos I see here but I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

/All the on-beat editing probably helped
//Nice song, too

2011-11-02 04:51:22 PM
3:22 Hancock (?)
3:27 Sherlock Holmes

2011-11-02 06:14:57 PM
