So... good? That's where the crime was allegedly committed, that's where the charges were filed, and any extra pain he's going to get from there was well-earned by his attention-whoring jerking them around. It's not like the laws are even significantly different in the two nations, turning himself over to the wrong country was done, apparently, just to be an asshat and delay the proceedings.

Except that this is obviously politically motivated to shut him up. The charges are so baseless that the fact this is still being pursued is evidence he won't be getting fair treatment. Funny how the law-and-order fetishists never have a problem with the legal system being abused like this, which only undermines its credibility in cases of ACTUAL crime.

According to the article, no charges have been filed. They just want to question him, and won't do it over the phone or by coming to the UK to talk to him. Not to mention that the second half of your post makes it clear you're already biased over the whole thing.

We'll see what Sweden does. Will certainly be pressure on Sweden to get him to America.

FTFA: "Swedish authorities filed an arrest warrant demanding he return to face allegations of sexual molestation, unlawful coercion and rape made by two WikiLeaks volunteers in Stockholm in August 2010. "

"Honey pots", Mr Assange, how do they farking work?

So rape isn't an actual crime? Or is it absolutely, outside the realm of probability that he commited it just because you it would fit some dreamed up conspiracy theory that you have zero actual evidence for that fits your political prejudices?

/just look at the swarmy douchebag. I'd be surprised if he hadn't do it.

The good thing about threads like these is that it makes it easy to pick out the State Department astroturfers.

Assange isn't American. You cannot convict him.

Odds that he'll end up in the U.S. on trial?

Guess what? He successfully delayed it long enough that the initial rage of the bootlickers has died down - since bootlickers usually have very short attention spans and very high amounts of apathy. Now the people who aren't ignorant are the only ones that are paying attention and since the reason they aren't ignorant is because they care the only voices you'll hear about this are the ones that know not only did he do nothing wrong in his actions at WikiLeaks but also that this was a smear campaign by embarrassed plutocrats enabled by biatchy women who wanted revenge for actions that did not merit such since they were simply being stupid, skanky groupies and went all biatchy when their delusions were dissolved by reality.

Convincing two different girls into letting you not use a condom isn't rape.

biatchy sluts are biatchy.

To the biatchy sluts: You're sluts, you biatches. There's no need to be either.

the European Arrest Warrant is so restrictive that it prevents U.K. courts from considering the facts of a case

Same as extradition on an interstate warrant in the United States. You can't argue that the other state's court shouldn't have issued an arrest warrant. You can argue that you were not the person the court meant to have arrested. There is obviously no such mistake of identity in the Assanage case. Innocent or guilty, he's the one they meant to have arrested.

Assange may be a scumbag and I kind of hope his dick falls off, but the allegations aren't anything like rape. Convincing someone to have sex with you under false pretenses isn't rape.
