Well duh.

He's gay and therefore:

1) doesn't come off as threatening to girl's social status
2) is desireless for the girl so he has an easier time being daring than a straight guy would be

I was thinking more:

1) He doesn't come off as threatening (in the sense that they know he's not trying to get in their pants.)
2) He's seen as a challenge by women who want what they can't have.

I totally agree, but we are discussing mortals. Timberlake has become a legend and is close to being a verb, there is no catching him. DiCaprio wants to be Timberlake. When you got that kind of envy, you have reached sainthood.
