Meh. Kobe's an irritable douche and Shaq is a fat lazy douche.

If Shaq had the work ethic of Kobe he would be known indisputably as the greatest center to ever play the game.

If Kobe had Shaq's sense of humor and approachability, people wouldn't hate him so much.

2011-11-01 06:24:31 PM
To bad he didn't follow through.

If he had killed him via Shaq-Fu, that would have been EPIC.

And Shaq isn't?

Shaq had a toe injury. What was he going to do? Run Kobe down until he caught him? And if Shaq shoots a gun anything like he shoots a free throw, Kobe has nothing to worry about.

2011-11-01 08:10:37 PM
Shaq was always an attention whore and a crappy teammate, and all of Kobe's criticisms were valid.

2011-11-01 08:11:25 PM
This makes me wanna forgive Shaq for Kazaam

In Shaq's defense, Kobe beef is delicious. Just ask that chick he raped.

2011-11-01 09:04:12 PM
Shaq, being a basketball player, would have tried to kill Kobe but he would have wiffed. Then bystanders would have to have come and held him back.

Sorry if he's destroyed your team's championship aspirations in recent years. The truth is, Kobe has 1000% more class than Shaq or most of the league could ever have. So what that he's better than you at life? Get over it.

No. People would still have a real problem with his size. Like Wilt wasn't bigger than everyone else, or something. The biggest complaint about Shaq isn't his freethrows, it's him being 7ft+ 400lbs of mostly muscle while the rest of the league is Vlade Divac

/never had a problem with Shaq, dude was impossible to stop until age caught up

To be fair, if anybody ever paid me that much, I would have a really hard time going to the office.

And don't forget about the physical beatings that the other centers in the NBA gave him every night that was deemed ok because he was so big. Hack-A-Shaq.

I know compared to most people Kobe is probably a pretty big dude, but personally if Shaq threatened me and I thought he meant it, I'd probably crap myself. That dude's massive, and in his heyday it was mostly muscle.

i hope it's not trolling because i agree so much (depending on people's definition of class). Kobe stayed with the same franchise his whole career (which also has a very high percentage of keeping high stars, to my knowledge). most people forget the Duncan/ORL opportunity. no star is not tempted (maybe Dirk?)

i can never say Kobe quit when he had a slim chance of winning(we can disagree about the Suns series, but i say he was tired (look who he took that far) and frustrated).

many people mock him for the poor shooting in the 2010 Finals, but i just remember him punishing himself going for any rebound he could get in the 4th (2nd behind Pau). that was just two older teams going at it. wonderful series by both teams. Shaquille's "injured on company time, paid on company dime" will always make him below Kobe.

Humour's fun, heart on the court matters more to me.

just for fun: the awesome Mr. Durant

Nope, no trolling here. In fact, I was trying to be the anti-troll of this thread. Very well put about Shaq's antics btw.

Dude, I'm a huge Lakers fan, who acknowledges Kobe's great skill, but class is not a word that should be used to describe the man.

Thank you. Being a fan of Kobe is fine, but don't tell me things that just aren't true. All time great, killer instinct, winner (when he has the right coach)...all these things are true.

Maybe it's a difference of how we define it, but I've never seen him exude class, at least, not on the court.

Lets not be ridiculous. Class hasn't existed in the NBA since Jerry West retired, so get over yourself thinking any of the current crop of hip-hop-stars-with-leather-balls has inherent class. Most of these guys believe the world owes them even more than they're making for the fantastic services they provide humanity. Excuse me while I choke down my esophagus for trying to say that. They're ballplayers, and that's it. In West's era he understood how meaningless to humanity his job was and he had some fracking humility about it.

I'm a huge Lakers fan. I've watched them since my grandmother had them on every visit we made to her. I would never try to convince myself that any current Laker star has more class than any other insanely-paid NBA yokel. They're greedy stars who have just slightly more talent than the people who are famous for being famous.

That said, Shaq is a twat. He never worked hard. Kobe was always correct in pointing out how f-ing lazy the big man was. Best thing Jerry Buss ever did was fire Shaq, that man's presence on our squad would have guaranteed no more rings after 2002.

Kobe was butt hurt that Shaq wouldn't support him during his rape allegations. It's like he wanted to force an emotion on Shaq, and Shaq kept telling him no - and Kobe wanted to keep going anyway.
