All we need are $40k/year tuition pre-schools for everyone.

Well that was completely unrelated to the article.

Good for us.

nopokerface: All we need are $40k/year tuition pre-schools for everyone.

Lol. You mean spending more on education leads to kids doing better in school? Are you sure you want to stick with that argument?

So . . . who wants to step forward and champion spending cuts in education right now?

Unfortunately, in America, reading is for gay people and math is what terrorists use to build bombs.

Go Massachusetts... Great education is one of the reasons I love living in the Commonwealth.

FlashHarry: this AND universal healthcare? romney's got a lot to run away from!

Yup. The GOP base not only has to stomach his success in providing universal healthcare, now they have to put up with people learning things that DON'T come from the Bible?

Good luck with that, Mittens.

Massachusetts cares about education - not just the government, but the people too, parents included - and gives it the funding it needs. I'm proud of my commonwealth.

People caring about education hasn't help much in the good old state of Pennsylvania. I think we're one step away from outright banning public education?

The property taxes I pay in MA go to this success.

The higher property taxes I pay in NY go to the abysmal failure of social services that shiathole offers.

So while money is a major factor it isn't everything...

Who cares about reading and math? Simple smalltown folk trust their gut. And my simple smalltown gut tells me, I'm just *better* than those libtards in Massachusetts. And if you don't agree with me, I'll YELL AT YOU UNTIL YOU BACK DOWN!

/Then I'll put my foot in your ass. Booyah!

There are college towns and college cities. MA is a college state. I went to grad school in Boston, myself. Love the city. And there were six other colleges within a very short walking distance.

Yeah, us Mass. Dems can be highly partisan, especially when we don't support our own Democratic governor.

You do realize the flagship college teams in the south are public schools, and the flagship college team in Massachusetts is a private Catholic college?

Have you noticed that Massachusetts doesn't even call itself a "State" like most of the God-fearing states of the Union? No, it calls itself a "Commonwealth." "Common-wealth." Common. Wealth. What does that sound like to you? I think the logic speaks for itself.

I don't get why people don't like him. Because he bought a nice car and then gave it back when for some reason, a black guy doing that got huge media attention? Because he was mean to Charlie Baker?

Calling BC a "flagship football school" is a bit of a stretch. It's probably not even the biggest sport on campus.

/The only college sport that matters up here is hockey.

When times were easier, people actually cared about stupid shiat like that. Now that times are hard, he gets credit for the important things.

What good is being able to read if you turn away from the Bible? Godless Massholes! Here in Alabama, our preachers and Republican pols are the only ones that need to be able to read, and that's just fine for us.

Also what part of "he is the best governor in a long time" do you disagree with? Are you saying that:

Jane Swift was better (that is a joke)
Mitt Romney was better (still basically a joke)
William Weld was better (in between Swift in Romney in joke level)
Dukakis (I could see you making this case) - this ended in 1991, or 20 years ago. Is that not a long time, assuming you think he was better? He wasn't a better governor than Deval, but regardless, I'm still right.

To be honest, I was moved from a Masshole area to Illinois in grade school. Back in the 1960's.
I was three years ahead of the local school district (54) and was yanked from public schools to private as soon as this was known by my parents (who freaked) as soon as this was known. In fact, even through freshman year of HS my math teacher had issues with how I finished problems because I was correct, but this was not how it was taught. My reply of "I learned this in 3rd grade" was a major piss shooting issue between my parents and the administration.

Whoa whoa whoa.
What was wrong with Weld?
The only complaint I have about Weld is that he let the voters of this state think that other Republicans could do as good a job as he did.

Are you confusing him with Cellucci, whom you left out of your list?

I guess he was okay. Most of the good he did was during the boom years and anybody would have done fine, he didn't really leave a legacy of any kind, there was the Decker College incident, his career now is writing bad murder mysteries.... I just don't like him as much as Deval.

I did that list off the top of my head, I think I blacked out Paul "Gidget" Cellucci from my memory.

As education level rises, the two things the neo-cons rely on, superstition and fear, correspondingly go down.
