Cantor's signature on those letters looks like the work of an overzealous staffer.

Non story.

2011-11-01 10:50:32 AM
Cantor is a farking scumbag. He's up there with McConnell and Inhofe in terms of skeevy Republican politicians.

2011-11-01 10:54:07 AM
Holy shiat! A Republican hypocrite?!

And I thought I'd seen it all...

2011-11-01 10:55:57 AM
wow, i'm shocked.

2011-11-01 11:04:00 AM
It's long been clear that Cantor is a cynical, unprincipled politician and particularly so when it comes to obtaining federal dollars for his constituency. Nothing new here.

2011-11-01 11:06:43 AM
Well, of course he did.

2011-11-01 11:09:57 AM
So Cantor has a wide stance on the issue of job creation?

2011-11-01 11:36:57 AM
I kind of wish there was some sort of hypocrite legislation... you vote against some spending/funding/stimulus and your district (or state in the case of senators) gets nothing.

You get dickbags like Cantor that go against bills then beg for the money anyway, no, you take your political lumps if you want some of the benefit, otherwise, you can just screw your own voters back to the dark ages with your backward thinking.

2011-11-01 11:48:19 AM
The tea party and Republican voters have been sold an empty bill of goods. Their leaders talk about cutting government spending publicly while angling privately for more taxpayer dollars for their districts.

And for this, so-called TEA partiers in his district will still send him right back to congress, because government pork is only bad when it is spent on them.

2011-11-01 11:49:51 AM
Cantor is human garbage.

2011-11-01 11:49:59 AM
Blatant hypocrisy is part of the Republican plank. He's just doing his job. Non-story.

2011-11-01 11:53:15 AM
Huh. And it isn't even defense dollars.

2011-11-01 11:54:08 AM
This is not surprising to anyone who subscribes to the "Eric Cantor is the biggest douchebag in congress." theory.

/irrefutable proof of the theory

metametameta: Blatant hypocrisy is part of the Republican plank. He's just doing his job. Non-story.

Cantor is the definition of douchebag.

2011-11-01 11:58:03 AM
This is the same asshole who invested in a fund that would only do well if the United States economy collapsed.

2011-11-01 11:59:01 AM
It appears that Cantor has been taking integrity lessons for Ron "I'll vote no, but give me my earmarks" Paul.

2011-11-01 12:00:44 PM
There should not be one person surprised about this.

2011-11-01 12:02:36 PM
This should be brought up again and again, every time Cantor, the Tea Party, or the GOP says ANYTHING about anything. Keep putting their shiat right back in their faces.

2011-11-01 12:04:23 PM
I'm confident a Republican apologist will be along shortly to explain this.

2011-11-01 12:05:53 PM
So...did he think this would never come out?

/or did he know that it wouldn't matter?

Tebow>Cantor

Actual Farking: It's long been clear that Cantor is a cynical, unprincipled politician and particularly so when it comes to obtaining federal dollars for his constituency. Nothing new here.

If the money is for his constituency, then he seems to have some kind of principles.

2011-11-01 12:10:05 PM
He should get together with Rick Perry and go bowling sometime.

Anybody else find it 0.tqn.com that the img1.fark.net is not used?

2011-11-01 12:11:24 PM
From the article - Cantor along with Rep. Bobby Scott wrote that, "High speed rail provides a sensible and viable solution to our region's transportation challenges.

It is estimated that creating a high speed railway through Virginia will generate as many as 185,500 jobs"

What was that you cons said about government not being able to create jobs

The Republican Party?

mrmyxolodian: Tebow>Cantor

Sorry, but as bad as Cantor is:

Cantor > Tebow.

2011-11-01 12:13:32 PM
THAT GUY IS THE FIRST BIT ON THE NECK

2011-11-01 12:13:46 PM
At least RON PAUL! uses the "I don't always support wasteful spending, but when I do it should be on the people I represent" conceit. Cantor wants to publicly claim that he hates spending, but he admits behind closed doors that the economic theory behind stimulus is sound and wants all the benefits of such spending ALONG with the political benefit of reassuring his supporters that cutting spending will grow the economy.

I suppose cynicism is a principle of sorts.

Ha!

2011-11-01 12:15:03 PM
It's true, Eric Cantor has no dick.

2011-11-01 12:17:10 PM
djkutch: I'm confident a Republican apologist will be along shortly to explain this.

The government was giving away tax dollars. It would be irresponsible if Cantor didn't try to get some for his district. That's their money too. That stuff about jobs and clearing congestion was just a cunning smokescreen.

Obama made him be socialist. He didn't want to, he was forced into it and he didn't like it one bit. He's been showering with Borax ever since, trying to get out the socialist stench.

coeyagi: djkutch: I'm confident a Republican apologist will be along shortly to explain this.

Nah, he's too busy calling me "gay" in another thread.

Or he's busy listening to Limbaugh and jotting down the talking points for this issue.

2011-11-01 12:22:48 PM
And goalposts get moved from "Federal spending doesn't create jobs. It's all needless, wasteful pork" to "Of course Eric Cantor tried to secure federal spending to create jobs in his district. There's nothing hypocritical about that. That's what his constituents elected him to do." In 3.....2 .....1.....

Oh, it's not just cons, Eric Cantor himself said that:

"Government doesn't create jobs and build wealth; entrepreneurs, risk takes, and private businesses do."

A quote of his from the following book: Young Guns: A New Generation of Conservative Leaders (new window)

2011-11-01 12:23:34 PM
I predict this will be a very brief thread.

Headso: DROxINxTHExWIND: /or did he know that it wouldn't matter?

Well, you know, they're liberal because they didn't wave their pom poms for the ENTIRE time Bush weas in office. They only cheered the war and set up the "Evil Mooslim" narrative for the first 5 years or so. Then they *gasp* had the nerve to start asking questions like, "the money goes where?" and "waterboarding is what now?"

2011-11-01 12:25:10 PM
If I were president Obama, this sort of thing would make me absolutely insane.

What pisses me off is under this same mantra our asshole governor Kasich sent back $400 million in stimulus money for High Speed rail across Ohio.

It's pretty clear that the GOP is all about politics and has no principles other than, "we hate liberals/people/black presidents".

Since this involves a prominent GOPer being a hypocrite, I predict not a shiate will be given by the "liberal" media. Then again, it is a "dog bites man" story if there ever was one.

LasersHurt: The trolls are having a pow-wow to figure out how to deal with this. My guess is "LOL libs are dumb."

That was first on the list, yes.

I tried getting "Virginia is for lovers" worked in there somehow and we all got into a gigglefit with shops of Cantor in fetish leather as "minority whip" with Rick Santorum literally gnawing on a pillow.

Nope, this guy's a douchebag. At least with Hitler you can say the trains ran on time and you never had to deal with Friday evening synagogue traffic.

Darryl Issa. Makes me shudder just typing it.

Oh, and Peter "The IRA are the good kind of terrorists because they're not Muslim" King.

Louie Gohmert.
