Oh, okay. So one of the protesters, or a bystander, had a controlled, police-issue armament, and decided to fire it into a crowd during a police action? Makes sense.

2011-11-01 10:01:22 AM
Actually what they're saying is that is wasn't the Oakland Sheriff's Department. That's why they're expanding the investigation to the other police agencies that were there.

I call bullshiat. Those canisters all have lot numbers on them. They are highly traceable.

2011-11-01 10:27:34 AM
Protesters identified the three deputies based on preraid video that showed them from a closer and less chaotic standpoint - near enough to make their nametags visible.

The only thing that will come out of this is a policy stating that police don't have to wear anything that identifies who they are.

No, it probably wasn't the police. Either way, he should have been at work providing for his family and paying taxes to the man.

What canister?

If you look at frame 242-247, you can actually see a 1 percenter on the grassy knoll throwing the tear gas canister. Why are you people all so blind to the facts?

Fun fact: Al Davis is the only man to have ever died in Oakland from natural causes.

FTFY. Oakland doesn't have a sheriff's department. Alameda County does.

To be fair, they buried that at the end of the article. Probably intentionally. Or it's just really crappy writing.

Don't police departments have inventories for shiat like this? All of their weapons have serials so they can be identified if they're discharged or left at a crime, I'm pretty sure those tear gas canisters are also numbered. So who was assigned that serial?

It may not be one of those 3 sheriffs that were named, but those sheriff's should be working their asses off to find out who actually threw it, because right now the mob of protesters have their sights right on the sheriffs.

I don't know what the little star icon is next to people's handles, but I'm tempted to click it for you two. Sensationalist headline, Subby, you're a bad submitter and you should feel bad.

Hahaha there's no lies like police lies. Now you see why they try and ban people from taking pictures/video on public streets all the time. They don't want evidence to contradict their lies.

I'm going to have to cite legal precedent and refer to the case of "finders v. keepers"
