This isn't ironic, because there's no subversion of expectations. It's merely coincidental. Now, had they built the castle specifically so it was not flammable and advertised that people should visit it because it's 100% safe from fire, THEN it would be ironic.

It was the ghost of Houdini, who died on Halloween 1926. He said that he'd try to contact us from beyond the grave, and for some reason it took 85 years.

He said that as firefighters were battling the flames in the attic, others were using rolls of plastic to help mitigate water and smoke damage to the Magic Castle's priceless artifacts, which include paintings, furniture, photographs and other memorabilia.

Yeah, priceless. At least that's what they will tell the insurance company. What priceless memorabilia do they have? Because if it's related to magicians, I don't care if it's Harry Houdini's underwear with a trap door, it is no where near the "priceless" category.
