I'm toking right now and that makes me very sad because the price will stay the same.

I quit drinking and smoking cigarettes but I love coming home from work and relaxing at home with a bowl and checking out the internet.

I've been doing it for 18 years now, I'm almost 40.

I suppose I'll get an insatiable desire for heroin at some point, and crack, probably have to go out and start smoking crack some day too.

Sure can't sit at home and enjoy natures goodness the way people have been doing for thousands of years.

Oh well, at least the cops get to look busy.

"Greenfield police are currently working with the Racine County Sheriff's Department and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, according to Wentlandt. The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released when available."

I'm glad the police are focusing their limited resources on preventing people from relaxing after work instead of dealing with minor crimes such as rape, murder, and robbery.

Anyone else here watch "Border Wars" on NatGeo?

They tear into vehicles and get so giddy when they find anything. They don't care that they're wasting an otherwise perfectly good vehicle even before they have the evidence in hand.

And then - get this. They destroy the whole vehicle (according to at least one episode) just in case they missed something.

Why are they so happy that they made a big bust? Wouldn't it be better for them if they spent months and months and didn't find shiat? Isn't their goal ostensibly to stop the flow of drugs across the border? If they were successful the flow of drugs would stop, but then they'd be sad because they wouldn't get that rush of putting all the drugs on their scales.

You'd think they'd at least try to auction some of this shiat off, but not CBP. As soon as they have a hunch drugs or other contraband are in your car (or truck/trailer/rail car) they'll tear the shiat out of it and laugh while not even trying to figure out that they could remove the dashboard without destroying it.

I'm sure they must occasionally wreck a car to pieces that has nothing in it, but so far they haven't shown that on TV.

Sorry for the threadjack - also kind of pisses me off to see 2 helicopters and a dozen ground units bust 5 immigrants crossing the desert on foot and I'm highly illegal immigration. That's a lot of farking money they're wasting when there should be better less expensive ways of doing that.

One that confused me ... they pulled over some guy going into Mexico who had 4 lbs of Mexican schwag in the side panel of his truck. Turned out he had bought the truck at a DEA auction years before with the weed already in it, and they let him go. How did that happen if they crush the cars? He was VERY lucky there.

As I understand it, they don't compensate innocent victims when they trash their cars, which I think is vastly unfair. Of course, you won't see them fark over innocent people on that show, any more than you'll see people getting away on COPS - bad PR.

It is a shameful waste of time and money. Friends of mine, mostly from India, have been jailed for DWB** down near the border.

I don't watch that stuff but it does seem that confiscation benefits the cops - maybe they get point for the biggest haul and rumor has it that much of the stuff never makes it to evidence.
The whole thing is f*cked up, and a very sad statement about our society and priorities.
Just a few weeks ago there was an article on here about a licensed medical grower that got raided with all the fanfare, early morning, right before harvest. Just wrong. He was also an advocate for medical growers, etc.
This has nothing to do with right or wrong. Money - follow the trail.

I've heard of cases like that. Either a policy change or an inconsistency in policy practice.

I just want to buy one of those cars with a few pounds of BC Bud they caught coming from Canada.

Ever wonder what you would do if you suddenly ran across a bunch of pot - like a bunch - more than you could smoke in 10 years or something.

Oh well, one can dream. I don't even smoke it anymore really. I mean if you handed me a joint I'd gladly puff, but I got bored with smoking every day.

I got stoned for the first time in 6 months last week - only took about 2 hits and I think my brain was doing somersaults in my head. Obviously it wasn't Mexi-weed.

Your taxpayer's money at work. That's why it won't ever be legal, prosecution is too profitable.

There are places where the taxes on cigarettes are well over 50% of the total cost. In addition to the $4.35/pack tax in New York, there are corporate taxes, income taxes, capital gains taxes, property taxes, etc. I bet on a $9.20/pack, you're easily generating $6 in total taxes.

Everytime police say they seized $7 million in drugs, people should be writing to their congressmen going "hey, I know where we can get $4.2 million to reduce the deficit."

I'm smoking a 35 cent cigarette now.....so I'm not getting a kick out of your reply.

They were less than 5 cents when I first started smoking.

Oh and before any anti-smokers pop up and say 35 cents is nothing, remember that I smoke way more than one cigarette per day and I do it every day or I get more nuts than I already am.

Heck, I consider myself doing well if I only smoke one cigarette per hour.

Cigarettes are way more expensive than pot.

When they seize plants they must do a projected yield. How is this fair or reasonable?
