FDR is the only one in the last century who really deserves to be up there, but I say just leave it as it is.

oldebayer: Reagan would be a tough sell, as it would be hard to deal with all that crap that would be constantly trickling down.

ZING!

Krymson Tyde: Sgygus: How about we wait until we have a president who has the stature of the four already up there?

So no one then?

Fine. I am good with that.

Sounds good to me. There's no point to dealing with the political fights that would result. We're polarized enough right now without immortalizing it into the mountain.

Once a moron -- I mean moran -- always one o' them whatevers.

I vote for Julian Assange!

For the Anti-Rushmore, Karl Rove! He was W's puppeteer. ...Followed by Cheney and Rummy, and maybe Joe McCarthy.

FDR for the Dems.
Eisenhower for the Repubs.

Eisenhower > FDR personally.

In order to get us out of the Depression and through WW2, FDR had to be a fascist dick.

reagan?

let's see...

he tripled the national debt
he raised taxes (on everyone but the rich)
he negotiated with terrorists
he armed terrorists
he sold drugs for arms to give to terrorists
he lied under oath
he set the precedent of "too big to fail" and bank bailouts
he started the highly unsuccessful and costly "war on drugs"
he started the deregulation of the financial sector.
he cut and ran like a chicken in Lebanon

I'm sure there's more but that's off the top of my head

Klasik: How about we respect the Lakota tribe and stop tearing up their mountains?

The Lakota didn't see the Black Hills until 1770-1775, the Crow, Cheyenne, Mandan, Shoshone and Blackfoot all have or had equal claim.

However as soon as the Lakota showed up, the pushed out everyone but the Crow and Cheyenne whose land still touched upon the Black Hills, then the farkin' Whiteman showed up and the Lakota have been pushing the mythology that it is theirs and they sprang from it as their creation myth.

/From a Lakota reservation
//Had a year of mandatory Lakota religion in public school

"...made it his mission to get mankind to the Moon..." for purely political reasons as we had to best the Soviets in the "high ground" of space.

The clear choice is Andrew Jackson. I mean, the man had only two regrets: He didn't hang his VP (Calhoun) or shoot a Senator (Clay). Plus, it would really keep with the whole stickin' it to the injuns theme that's going on up there

FDR. That retard Norquist's opinion to the contrary, FDR inherited a situation 100 times more desperate than Reagan's, and brought us out in far better fashion. At the beginning of FDR's administration, we were in the middle of economic disaster and militarily weaker than every industrialized nation on earth. When he died, we were the world's richest and most powerful country by far (and don't you Russophiles say the USSR was more powerful; a larger army is completely meaningless when one nation controls all the nuclear weapons).

Ideally it should be left alone though.

Actually, I think it was Nixon who started the "War on Drugs" He also founded the DEA in 1972, if I recall correctly.
