I found it interesting they "flexed" the Detroit/Chicago game to the "late game" ... which generally, the NFL wants only one "big" game in that late timeslot, so, it is usually a big game, and whatever west coast home games are going on that they have to show at that time (since they aren't going to play a game at 10am locally, so, the "prime game" and Cleveland @ Seattle, etc)... but, NY Giants @ San Francisco was already a game of national importance, with two large markets and a (right now) 6-1 vs. 5-2 team, so, I find it interesting that wasn't already just determined to be the "Game of the week", and left the Chicago/Detroit game at 1pm. I'm actually a bit disappointed I won't be able to see both games (since I would have gotten the Chi/Det game at 1pm anyway,... now I'll likely get StL/Cleveland on FOX, since part of our market bleeds into Ohio, ugh).

Anyway, my Flexing predictions:

Week 11:
Late - SD @ Chicago (CBS), SNF - Phil @ NY (NBC)
They'll stick with what is already scheduled I'd predict.... only game I could see CBS flexing in is Cincy @ Baltimore, but, Chicago is a better TV draw.

Week 12:
NE @ Phil (CBS), Pit @ KC (NBC)
If KC can pull into first place after tonight, I think NBC sticks with their game. Only other game possibly worth moving to prime time if Buffalo/Jets, but, I think they'll stick with what is there.

Week 13:
GB @ NYG (Fox), Indy @ NE (NBC)
First game that is DEFINITELY be flexed out.... possible games: CIN @ PIT, ATL @ HOU, DET @ NO, KC @ CHI .... My prediction would be Detroit @ New Orleans moves to Prime Time

Week 14:
Buf @ SD (CBS), NYG @ Dallas (NBC)
Most likely all 4 of those teams are in the playoff race, so, I don't see any moves.

Week 15:
Jets @ Phil (CBS), Baltimore @ SD (NBC)
Both these games figure to be relevant... and even if the Jets and/or Eagles are not in contention, CBS doesn't have any other good games to move to 4pm.

Week 16:
Weird thing this year, all the main games are on Xmas Eve, but, the SNF game is still Sunday, Xmas night. So, my guess is they won't allow flexing to the SNF game (which is Chicago @ GB, so, that will likely be relevant anyway).
Fox's late game Xmas eve is Philly @ Dallas, which they'll probably keep as well.

Week 17:
Both Networks have "Doubleheaders", One game gets moved to NBC
NBC usually gets some game that has definitive playoff implications (ie, last year getting the "NFC West Championship" game)....
Of the divisional games the last week that could be interesting... SD@OAK, TEN@HOU, DAL@NYG, BAL@CIN, TB@ATL, my guess though is if they keep within a game of each other to the last week....Buffalo @ New England goes prime time.

So, overall, I honestly only see one definitive "flex" (other than final week), which is getting the NE/Indy game out of prime time.

Until the Lions play GB, I'll hold judgement.

That's probably because the Giants aren't as good as they seem. IMO, anyway.

Its only mid-year, and don't call me Shirley.

merkey88: Until the Lions play GB, I'll hold judgement.

Well, they beat them the last time they met in the regular season, so judge away.

They lost 28-26 in GB with a second string QB in the first meeting

The Thanksgiving day game is gonna be pretty farkin cool tho. As will the final game of the season at Lambeau.

One of the local sports talk shows has been saying this for the last month or so. Colt @ Pats is a snooze without Manning. Lions @ Saints should be a very interesting match up, likely a high scoring shootout seeing as Detroit's secondary is the biggest weakness that Brees should be able to throw on at will when the Lion's front four aren't on top of him.

/My start of the season prediction was 12-4, right now they are a game behind pace with the loss to the 49er's. However I have the Saints game down as a loss however as the Rams showed yesterday, the Saints are beatable.

Flex scheduling is the best thing since instant replay challenges.

The article does say that the flexing doesn't apply to Week 16 for that very reason.

If Dallas blows things like they did last night, that Week 14 Sunday night game will be changed for sure.

No big deal. For years the Lions got the Thanksgivings Day game and they sucked donkey dicks. Now that the are hot, give them their props.

If Rodgers is injured in the first quarter after Jennings brick-hands an easy 50-yard gain into an INT again, the Lions will probably win this time, too.

Versus Stafford being injured most of the season.........

Surely, the end times are upon us

That's what I said when I saw Detroit leading 38-3. When's the last time they had a five-touchdown lead on anybody?

Well, you mentioned the Pack's win without Stafford, I figured it was also pretty relevant to mention that Detroit's win was due to Rodgers' injury.

I believe Week 2 vs Kansas City. Maybe it was a different week, though.

Is where I say that I'm glad the LA market has no football team? We have no primary team here, so none of this blackout or switching away to the kickoff a game starting soon. And this is why I don't mind if we never have a team here.

/not a fan of either team that was here before anyways

Well, the Lions are a surprising 6-2 after a whalloping of Denver, with games against the Packers on Thanksgiving and the final week of the season.

Hmmm, that does sound a bit familiar (new window)

/this is a much better Lions team than that season tho
//still a little interesting tho

Weak dude.... Detroit's success is not cheeseville's failure.

I totally forgot about that. 48-3. My memory is as full of holes as KC's defense was that day.

The Packers were already playing like Roquefort when Rodgers got knocked out of the game. Before he was injured in the 2nd quarter, the Packers had scored zero points and Rodgers was 7 for 11 for 46 yards and an interception: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2010/12/aaron- r odgers-knocked-out-packers-lions/1

I am with you Pvt Joker. Rodgers is a lame QB... everyone keeps talking about him like he's some sort of once in a lifetime QB, when he's maybe slightly above average. People here are smoking the Panama Red if they think Aaron is better than the Tennessee Stud... even if he's got the neck pains.

I see the Lions taking that game on Thanksgiving and losing in Green Bay at the end of the year.

And like I said, the interception was a 50-yard bomb that went directly into Jennings' hands and he brick-handed it into a Detroit defender's hands who was several yards away from the play. 8 for 11 for 100 yards looks a lot better. If you read the WHOLE sentence, you'll be better off.

/it only would've taken one TD to beat the Lions

The Lions lost 28-26 earlier in the season at Lambeau.

FFS, retard, I'm just saying if you want to qualify the first loss with a "with a backup QB" then you also have to qualify the win with a "against a backup QB".

/enjoy losing 'em both this year
