The Oilers went from 25th to 2nd spot. I still don't think they'll hit playoffs this year...... if goaltending stays solid and the the whole team does a better job protecting leads in the third, I'll happily eat my words.

25? Awww, it was fun being in the top 10 for a little bit.

That's what you get when you have 2 different writers alternating each week. Especially early in a season they are both likely to adhere to their pre-season rankings until 1/4th of the season is gone and then they'll be more consistent week to week.

Caps still number one even after their 0-fer in Western Canuckistan pleases me.

POKEMON!
Sorry, habit.
Caps didn't take advantage of any opportunities out west, minus the bouncey goal off of Luongo's back. Power play is mediocre, and the only way they seem to generate good offensive chances is on the long outlet passes. Caps don't play well out west, so I'm willing to overlook this week if they turn it around against Anaheim at home, then on to a 6-of-8 road trip. I'm really looking forward to the first @Winnipeg game for some reason. And I'll be at Verizon for the Rangers game after Thanksgiving.

I'm still steaming over the refs in that buffalo game on sat. Up 2-1 they give Stafford a 2 min penalty for roughing up the guy who just boarded our defensemen, then cancelled out the rest of the 3 mins left on our PP by giving gerbe 4 mins for an embellished trip.

Also buffalo: Y u no play good at hime?

With all our additions were on the verge of being the Philadelphia eagles of the NHL.

Meh, it's still retardedly early in the season. This time next month the Leafs will likely be fighting it out for 6th.

Watching the fights at M.S.G., occasionally a hockey game breaks out. When it does, the Rangers do not deserve to be leading it.

Don't be so hard on them. They might not win the President's Trophy . . .

Hey now it was actually 12C today. Unfortunately the warm weather seems to make people more murder-y here.

As an Australian, let me just say . . . dude, if 12°C makes you warm and murderous, 32°C must be . . . well, actually, that explains Adelaide. Huh.

French Rage: Go Sharks!

I'm still a bit bitter about Saturday. I never complain about refs, but that delay of game call in OT was blatantly wrong with video evidence to prove it. It hit off the boards before it went into the stands.

/Let's Go Islanders

Eh, they had one game with awful referees (fark that Auger dude, worse than Hochuli) and a flat game. The Wings had an awful game against the Caps, but we'd overlook that if they hadn't had three similarly awful games last week. Hopefully that'll be it, and tomorrow will be another scorcher - I'm going to be there and play broomball after, so I'd like to be in a good mood at the final buzzer :)

The Isles have a three-headed monster in goal? Cool, that's one problem they've got solved! Does he have six arms as well?

Burnside's a hack, but Lebrun is usually pretty insightful.

Bloody stupid, picking the Sharks year after year, but insightful nonetheless.

LeBrun is a farking useless. He has no idea what he's talking about, case in point: the Oilers jumping 24 spots. Another fat ass who never played the game trying to talk with authority.

Honestly, after 30 years or so of following the Bruins, I really shouldn't be surprised, and after last season, I'm not going to get too upset about the start to this season, but... it's just so typical of this team.

Having said that, still plenty of time to turn things around.

They lost a game after Montreal basically spotted them a goal. I mean, the only way to fall further from the Stanley Cup is if you're in it while Chara's hoisting it and he drops you.
