I'm new to the Who but I've enjoyed all of the Doctors I've watched so far. I do think Tennant is the one I'd want to me the most.

I've always wanted to get into that show, but I worry that if I start at the beginning, it might take a couple of decades to catch up...

Unless you care about "classic" doctor who, just start from Matt Smith's take on the role from a year or two ago. You can always backtrack more if you want to.

You could also start from the beginning of "new who" from 2005, but (in my opinion) there are a lot more duds than winners in these episodes. And I thought that many of the episodes during Tennant's run to be agonizingly bad.

I just started the 2006 series about a month ago. Not that I have anything for comparison, but Chris Eccleston kicks ass. I think I'm gonna have a hard time liking anyone else.

For the 10th Doctor you could probably find pre-made costumes at this point.

The 11th Doctor is a lot easier to get stuff for especially if you are not going for exact replica. Go to goodwill and find some black jeans, tweed looking jacket, and cheap button down undershirt. Any black shows can make up for the nice shoes the Doctor actually wears. The most difficult items to find are: bow tie and suspenders (at reasonable prices). If you plan ahead you can get good deals online.

The most expensive item I had to buy when putting together my costume was the sonic screwdriver.

Having just joined for the new shows I was checking out some of the old shows on Netfliks streaming.

I was kind of shocked at how disrespectful the companions were towards the Moe Howard looking Doctor. He was explaining something and and one of them said, "Enough of your jibber-jabber!"

Also, enough of these young doctors that companions get the hots for. I'd like to see another wise old man doctor. Someone wise and old and maybe still a little sexy and dangerous.

Maybe Mick Jagger would be an interesting doctor.
