I think that was most of the story - people got all outraged and just knew something had to be illegal here. So police got called in and found that no actual crimes had been committed. And while I normally condemn that kind of behavior, it is at least somewhat understandable in this instance.

Well bestiality is illegal, pretty much on the basis that it's farked up. You could say it's animal cruelty but then they could just charge the person with animal cruelty. And the things that go on in slaughterhouses and medical labs are much more cruel than some hick getting his freak on with a member of another species. So we do have laws against things simply because society deeps them aberrant. And someone please tell me where I'm going with this.
