I'm guessing DailyFail is back paying fark for greenlights?

her original fanbase is old enough to want to hear someone singing for their money.

It's kinda sad. At one time we had manufactured groups, but they at least had to be able to sing. Take That are packing out the venues in the UK because they can perform live.

Her original fanbase were kids who are now starting to have families of their own and probably don't have the time or money to waste on nostalgia acts.

If not for the crazy, you're durn right I'd still hit it.

mourning the decline in quality of manufactured popstars is a very sad thing.

I would actually prefer if we treated the popstars like the manufactured bullshiat that they are rather than acting like they're some kind of genuine article (i.e. Lady Gaga). As annoying as it was when people were fawning over something they knew they wouldn't give a shiat about in a year, it's even more obnoxious when people bend over backward trying to explain why some other pop starlet has genuine credentials even if they're performing the same bullshiat.

Her original fanbase grew up with auto-tune and wouldn't recognize the sound of real singing even if Tony Bennett walked up and kicked them in the nuts.

Were those first two photos in matching outfits a "before and after" from sometime during this tour?

Generation_D: I'm guessing DailyFail is back paying fark for greenlights?

I don't think so.

There was a thread a couple of weeks back started because some farkers got overexcited about a pair of tits in the Daily Mail sidebar.

I believe that, for whatever reasons, Fark just loves consuming what the Mail pushes.

We're just the back end of this centipede.

I guess thats possible, but 4-5 greens a day, like today? Seems a little more than random.

Britney was only famous because she was a hot teenager. No one ever actually cared about her music.

meh, she looks like a mother of 2 and I'm OK with that.

Generation_D: I guess thats possible, but 4-5 greens a day, like today? Seems a little more than random.

It's not random, it's for three main reasons:

1) DM churns out a shiat-ton of random bizarre news. I'm pretty sure they don't fact-check anything
2) They tend to get the weirdest stuff out first, since they're in the UK and are hours ahead of US stuff, giving them traction before US organizations publish
3) A lot of submitters choose DM for whatever reason. We have a higher percentage submitted to us, probably because of reasons 1 and 2

2011-10-31 10:28:58 AM
Alright, tinfoil back down to "loose." But it still just turns fark mainpage into DailyFail link page, which is of minimal value to anyone not interested in just linking to DailyFail.

FWIW, whenever I'm running the queue I avoid DM stuff unless it's the best headline. Too much of it is meh, at least for me. But we're inundated with it. If we get the same weird stuff from other sources, I'll take that stuff all day long. I think DM also gets a lot of Google News ranking bump because they're often first with a lot of stuff, even if its news value is essentially zero.

So she is still trying to dress like pre baby Brittney. Id still hit it but damn the paparazzi will have a field day with her. She had a nice run most pop stars will prolly only get 1 hit off of one album if they are even that lucky.

English, motherfarker. Do you write it?

Tyrone Slothrop: Britney was only famous because she was a hot teenager. No one ever actually cared about her music.

Exactly. Her first serious drop in popularity was when she hit 18. All of her older fans lost interest and she had to resort to slutting it up in order to get some of them back. This happens with every teen starlet.

That's what I like about you. Totally unpretentious.

Sure, I've seen better at the local Wal*mart. Sure, she looks like a mother of 2 barely holding it together against a veritable firestorm of salsa flavored Doritos (because she is).

But would I spend an entire weekend trying and failing to not disappoint her? Hells yeah I would, and I'm not ashamed to say it.

I know a guy that absolutely loves her and went to her show a few months ago. He still talks about it all of the time. This person is an MD,short, fat, in his mid sixties, has grandchildren and talks like Borat.

Pretty much this.

Cue the rest of the derp brigade saying they're too good for her.

I read that in the voice of Bill Corbett (aka Crow T Robot from Mystery Science Theater 3000).

Wait a minute, she always sucked...what's with this revelation of her crappy singing and dancing in this article?

2011-11-01 12:03:13 PM
I'm not a Britney fan at all.

That being said, I think a huge part of her problem is that she still tries to be "teenage slut" Britney. biatch is 30. She should try something a bit more sophisticated or at least try to dress like an adult rather than wear tiny jean shorts and a sparkly pink halter top.

Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Janet Jackson, etc were all able to get through their 30's relatively gracefully. Unfortunatley for Brit, I don't think she's smart or talented enough to do that.
