I wish I could get millions to ruin a company.

Reward the fail, America!

Sounds like the board of directors is the group primarily responsible for this cock-up.

What the F were they thinking? They just seduced themselves with a shiny big name and didn't pay attention to what they were actually DOING by appointing Corzine and supporting his decisions.

1) Turning over (not just cutting but cutting and replacing) over a third of the workforce?
2) Changing from being a low-risk transaction maker to a high-risk positions-holder in a short period of time?
3) Hiring a guy to lead the charge who had been OUT of the business for the last decade (and was likely to make all the same mistakes everyone else made during that time)?

Good job, board - you just drove your company into the ground.

I find it funny that nobody is drawing a connection from GOLDMAN SACHS (which, according the OWS crows is eeeeeeeeevil) and the DEMOCRATS (who are somehow never eeeeeeeeeevil, even when they are a. in the 1%, and b. former Chairman of eeeeeeeeevil GOLDMAN SACHS).

I find it odd they only mention Corzine is a DEMOCRAT one time in the article. One would have thought it would warrant mentioning several times about the GOLDMAN SACHS connection and connections to the DEMOCRATS. I mean it isn't like a news story about a DEMOCRAT running a company into the ground is a big news story. Oh, wait. Yes, yes it is.

So, here we have a news article about everything wrong with the world, according to DEMOCRATS and somehow you just know they will pour out the troops to defend the former CEO of GOLDMAN SACHS. Then again, Liberals are known for their larger than life hypocrisy, especially when it comes to DEMOCRATS and GOLDMAN SACHS.

The board is only responsible for (3)

They don't run the company the CEO does.

The most astonishing thing about this is the fact that the minute this hit the web, millions of conservatives began feverishly fapping. Simultaneously.

Neo-Cons maybe. Actual conservatives? Most likely smacking themselves in the forehead (if they had investments with the company) or shaking their heads muttering "'told ya so".

/right side of the aise
//when it comes to running a business, most folks don't care about politics so long as the company does well
//Corzine has a penchant for snagging defeat from the jaws of victory when it comes to investors (see his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Governor of NJ, Real Estate deals, etc.)

Then clearly you thought wrong, and I'd suggest letting someone else manage your money for you. As the evidence makes apparent, plenty of private sector incompetence exists. And it gets penalized. Too bad in this case it'll be the investors who pay the price, but them's the breaks when you make a bad investment decision.

Nope... nothing to see here. Certainly not a former CEO of GOLDMAN SACHS, heavy DEMOCRAT contributor, and debtor to CNBC. Certainly there is no connection to be made between GOLDMAN SACHS, DEMOCRATS and CNBC! Perish the thought. There is no way a former GOLDMAN SACHS CEO and current DEMOCRAT would be buying off CNBC for favorable coverage. Couldn't happen!

I am certain CNBC will explain in detail why a former GOLDMAN SACHS CEO advising DEMOCRATS is beholden to them for so much money. It will put to rest all the nasty rumors about GOLDMAN SACHS, DEMOCRATS and CNBC being in bed together.

/ I am sure they will
// But we won't believe a word of it

They're not out any money. They're just trustees for bonds that were issued to the general public. They're the legal creditor for bankruptcy purposes but it's the end bondholders who are on the hook here, and it's them that'll get together and negotiate with MF. JPM and DB are just conduits.

Former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine (DEMOCRAT) is one of the top bundlers for Obama, a DEMOCRAT. "He's one of the best partners I have in the White House," "We work together, said Obama of Corzine. Obama, a DEMOCRAT, said that Corzine is "our Wall Street guy."
