(SacBee) Dumbass If you manage to sneak past the cops and firemen who respond to the burglar alarm you just set off, it might be a wise choice not to decide at that moment to play with the lights and sirens on the pretty fire truck   (blogs.sacbee.com) divider line 24

And the Fire Department was there, why exactly?

X15: And the Fire Department was there, why exactly?

In case of arson.

My biggest WTF:

FTA: U.S. postal inspectors who arrived at the hospital later released the man without arrest, Ramos said.

He must be connected from on high.

2011-10-31 12:34:23 AM
FTA: "It's hard to tell what his intent was," spokesman Ramos said when asked about motive. "This guy was under the influence. You couldn't get a coherent statement out of him."

The suspect obviously didn't mind attracting attention, however.

Ramos said after authorities arrived, the man jumped back out of the postal window and climbed into the fire truck, turning on the siren.

Ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, BANANAPHONE!

Really? Fire Departments don't do enough run padding standing around taking up space at medical calls and are responding to burglar alarms too now?

Says you.

After a bus turned left directly in front of me on a motorcycle leaving me bleeding from the spleen on the pavement I was damn glad to see that fireman's face.

They had assessed me, cut most of my gear off and had me strapped to a backboard ready for transport long before the police and ambulance showed up.

You'd rather they hung around the station shooting pool than show up at emergency scenes making their already paid for hardware and expertise available to the public?

WTF does "run padding" even mean in this context?

/they wouldn't let me push the siren button

It's common for firefighters to also be paramedics. I know, my own father was one for 20 years.

The Fire Department AND Postal Service responded? This sounds like that scene from Airplane! where they scramble every emergency vehicle...

I wonder if while throwing the brick into the building he hit a sprinkler head that caused the water flow alarm to go off. Because its not SOP for the fire department to respond to a commercial burg.

Unless someone saw the the guy and called it in.

(why yes I'm an expert)

And what was the spleen doing on the pavement in the first place? Something like that sure could cause a wreck.

What's the problem? HIS tax dollars PAID for that truck, AND those policemen, and firemen... Technically they owe HIM for their jobs, and as a tax-payer, that truck is HIS. What's wrong? Oh, ok, I thought this was 'merica! I guess it ain't...

Which is fine, because last I checked the Post Office is not a commercial building.

I'm still having trouble visualizing a bus on a motorcycle.

You don't drive a motorcycle, you ride a motorcycle...and fark you.

You'd think it was obvious what the spleen was doing on the pavement.

It was bleeding...you know...from being ripped out of me by a bus...and fark you too!

jakrabit: I'm still having trouble visualizing a bus on a motorcycle.

You should try it from the perspective I had...under the bus with the motorcycle.

And fark you also.

I'd forgotten about all you grammar lovin', nit pickin', drunk post hatin' bastards on the Main tab.

/skulks back to the Politics tab, where farkers are friendlier
