Any Broncos fan watching this game has now come to realize that there will be another high draft pick spent before the team has a decent quarterback.

Can they get their old "D and Horsey" helmets back so I can hate them more? Their current logo looks too polished (like the NFL has become, I suppose).

Nope. Now comes the "We need to tailor the offense to Tebow! Jump pass! Jump pass!"

How have they not figured out to put Orton back in yet?

The good news is that Denver got better value in the Cutler/Orton trade.

That bad news for Denver fans is that it was just barely advantageous in the Broncos favor.

Tim Tebow is our generation's Gary Beban.

for good or ill, they have to figure out for 100% certain that Tebow can not play QB in the NFL. Take him out for Orton now, and there will always be doubters.
Not that, if he played like Ryan Leaf, there still wouldn't be doubters, but at least by letting him play out the string (assuming he stays healthy), you're left with as few as possible.

Yeah, going 6-26 with him at the helm is awesome! They were going to lose this game anyway.

/they should have Orton in until the red zone, then Tebow. Orton can't finish a drive, Tebow can't start one.

WTF was the right tackle doing on this play? He drops back a bit, blocks the guy some, and then decides "no, I'm not going to keep moving my feet. Gee. I wonder if I can stop this guy with my arm. No? Huh. Oh well. That would have been holding anyway." and then sack.

Not that Tebow doesn't suck, but Denver's problems are much deeper than QB.

Yes, because the guy going against a top defense, throwing to basically a bunch of molty misfits(Eric Decker and Demaryius something are the only WRs I can name and only Decker has looked great), with friggin' Knowshon Moreno at RB with a bad O-Line and no defense and losing proves he sucks.

/Doesn't give a shiat about Tebow's success

Oh, I'm not denying that. I just think that it's silly to point to games like this as an example, or things like him getting sacked. Pointing out the fact he can't pass worth shiat is fine, though.

/You still give him a year or two because your team sucks, because if the QB can't do it with a good O-Line and decent RB, he never can

John Lynch beat them to it...I couldn't believe how much he was licking Teballs through the second half saying things just like that.

2011-10-30 08:00:25 PM
Though honestly, I DO think Tebow has potential as a QB.

But it's just that, potential. Right now he's pretty terrible, but anyone who was saying he wouldn't be is a Tebow slobber, just like a Tebow hate slobber. He takes his wounds like any first/second year QB and if he still doesn't show improvement, give it to someone else. Maybe draft a QB in the 3rd or so one of those years as insurance.

2011-10-30 08:07:11 PM
Tebow: A nice kid placed in an untenable situation by a terrible head coach (now coaching in St. Louis) who was in way over his head. You can't fault Tebow for that.

That said, if there's a way to personify the leap from the college to pros being measured in light-years and not by inches (as the Tebow apologists are wont to do) it's Tim Tebow. He just doesn't have the tools. Intangibles, yes, but intangibles are in addition to fundamentals and overall talent, not a substitute.

Silver lining: we're still in the Matt Barkley/Landry Jones sweepstakes.

Sigh...go Broncos.

The Broncos strategy of double and triple teaming Suh all day really paid off for Cliff Avril and Lawrence Jackson.

Barkley's the guy currently considered number 2 on the QB prospect lists. IE: the guy you hear mentioned first in the upcoming draft not named Luck.

Unless Tebow performs a miracle on par with feeding thousands with 2 loaves and 3 fish he's at best keeping the seat warm until the Broncos draft the best QB left on the board next year.

There is no way Elway or Fox would have drafted Tim Tebow, in any round. They aren't giving him another year to prove he's nothing more than a project QB that is going to require way more effort than they'd ever want to spend just to make him an average NFL passer. There is no way Elway looks at Kyle Orton and doesn't shake his head at a completely mediocre QB with no ability to raise his game up when it counts. There's no way he doesn't look at Brady Quinn and not want to vomit.

But not deservedly at all. Have you ever noticed that the past five or so USC QBs have been average to sucky, with the exception of maybe Carson Palmer in his prime?

He's had one good year, this year. The year where USC barely beat Minnesota and lost to Arizona State with him throwing 2 INTs? The guy is a Mark Sanchez or Matt Cassel type and not someone worth being considered #2.

Granted, USC QBs are hit and miss, but at this point savvy Bronco fans would be just fine with putting the ninth caller taking snaps behind center.

I think they need a more courageous QB.

Reminds me of every Packer-Buccaneer game of the 80's. The media would call it the Battle of the Bays, we would just call it the Toilet Bowl.

True, but the Tebow fans are currently blaming Orlando Franklin and the offensive coordinator.

The Denver FOX affiliate postgame panel basically out and out said "Tebow sucks and his fans are clearly waterheads",

Hey, once he gets used to the crown of the field, he'll be great!

To Mr. Tulloch, well done sir. Hardest I laughed all day, and I got to watch my dad explain, and demonstrate, Tebowing to my grandparents earlier.
