The exclusive passes also allow holders to meet members of the U.S. Women's Ski Team when they race in Aspen on Thanksgiving weekend.

What they did there, I see it.

Pimpin' ain't easy.

Seriously, I've got no problem with this. I wish that skiing weren't being consolidated and merged into a couple of mega-corps with Disneyland as their goal, but that's an entirely different argument. Aspen is what it is, and the fact that some people can afford to be extravagant isn't what grinds my gears about today's economic landscape.

US Women's Team? Fire up the Gulfstream!!!

If you have a problem with this, you are clearly not a skier or snowboarder.

If I had that kind of money? Fark yes I would buy one of these.

I have In Search of Powder on my nightstand hoping that I can get through the rest of my reading list before ski season starts. Seriously, Vail, I don't need sushi for lunch when I'm on the slopes. I don't even need sushi for dinner when I get down.

It's sad. It's really really sad.

It actually seems about right to me. That's bad though, right?

"The passes raise money for public schools in the Roaring Fork Valley and support events tied to World Cup ski racing in Aspen."

I'm wondering how much of a percentage gooes to the schools, cause I'm guessing probably not that much.

For 25 large the ski team had better be stark naked and waiting for me in a jacuzzi full of Dom and Astroglide.

/Dom flavored Astroglide?

Well, fark it. All out of money to piss away.

So the guy that lost all but 70 dollars of my 401k contributions this year is going to be in Vail at a known date and time?

Good to know!

I'm guessing it gave a whole lot more than the charitable cause you set up.

I know it's really none of anyone's business, but we kinda have to know how much you had in there at the peak to know how big a deal this loss is. Cause if you only had a hundred bucks to start with....

If I put in a hundred and lost 30, that still wouldn't be very good, would it?

Consider thinking rationally when you invest. The American body politic is a bunch of caught sayof.

When I bought my house, I made sure it was about the same drive form her to Smuggler's Notch, Stowe, and Jay Peak.
I don't ski, but think of the resale value.

Rationally, I'd do better to stuff it in a coffee can and bury it in the yard.

A little perspective is in order.

25K won't buy a loaded Hyundai Sonata.

You don't have to be in the top 1% to afford that. Top 10, maybe.

Hell, go here if you can't afford it...http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/travel/destinations/travel-un ited-states/united-other-destinations/rent-your-own-mountain-for-a-ski -day-seriously/article2209037/singlepage/#articlecontent

Could I afford it? Sure, if I sold my house (and possibly a kidney.)

Some ordinary folk spend that on a wedding.

You just bribe half of the hungry, angry people to turn on the other half. Doesn't take much.
