CruiserTwelve: Good for her! And Fark says this stuff never happens.

She's one of those cops that will get left hanging when things get tough.

Also, if this cop had killed someone, he'd only get a few years in prison while he stays on paid suspension. If he were a regular citizen, he'd do 20 years for murder.

Something like this happened to a cop in Vegas. He was doing 100mph on a city street, hit a guy and killed someone. The guy he hit got charged with manslaughter even though the facts proved he was in the right. The charges got dropped when the public outcry about the cop's actions became too much and they realized it would be tough to convict the victim to cover up for the cop's actions.

If that citizen was more bootstrappy and a valuable..erm.. "job creator".. he'd get the special platinum level of justice.

Party Boy: If that citizen was more bootstrappy and a valuable..erm.. "job creator".. he'd get the special platinum level of justice.

Why struggle to be a job creator when you can just become a cop and be above the law?

That FHP cop deserves a medal for what she did, and he needs to be fired, lose his pension, and have his face put on billboards to serve as an example to others.

Why can't you just accept that the female cop did something good instead of fabricating something to justify your hatred?

120 MPH is normally a trip to jail even without evading police.

2011-10-30 08:11:18 PM
(Shrug) 6 AM on an empty Interstate? Party on. Nobody should've been stopped for this... not a cop, not me, and not anybody else who wasn't driving erratically.

2011-10-30 08:11:29 PM
100 is still OK though. It's just the really excessive stuff that you start getting what the rest of us get at 5 over.

2011-10-30 08:12:20 PM
Yeah, I am gonna bet that woman has kids and knows how to deal with "bad boys"

CruiserTwelve: Good for her! And Fark says this stuff never happens.

The officer will not be removed from the force. They'll get a two week administrative vacation, told to never do it again, the arrest will be expunged, and he'll never suffer any punishment.

If the person in question was not a cop, they would have had 5 cops chasing him, they would have smashed his car, and he'd be going to jail for 10 years.

But yes, congrats, one cop sort of did the right thing. She'll probably be tossed from the force for it.

2011-10-30 08:15:11 PM
How long until she's shunned and hazed in her own crew? Or followed home after work? shiat like that happens.

This video is all the proof anyone needs to be convinced that some (but not all) cops think that badge makes them above the law. They have good reason to think it as apparently this guy is just getting a slap on the wrist. That chase went on for four minutes at over 120 mph and he is only charged with a misdemeanor? Bullcrap right there. Anyone of us runs from the cops at over 120, putting other motorists in danger it would be at least one and possibly more than one felony.

Nothing will happen to him cuz they cops.

2011-10-30 08:16:44 PM
Misdemeanor? How days vacation will the speeding Miami cop lose as punishment?
Justice in this case must be the same given a citizen found guilty of similar offenses.
And buy the State Trooper a box of donuts.

If she's lucky, I wouldn't be surprised if the stinking pigs don't find a way to jack her up on false charges or outright kill her. That's how the blue brotherhood rolls.

Yup. But good on the trooper.

I've generally found that state troopers are surprisingly reasonable, fair, and helpful folks. There are exceptions and I haven't been to too many states to test out this theory (nor pulled over in 'em for that matter), but this story makes me happy regardless.

Fabrication:

Cop died while driving recklessly. The victim got arrested.

Fabrication #2:

Cop gets a traffic ticket for killing a man after not breaking off pursuit.

Im glad to see the officers FINALLY providing some balanced police work. That cop had no right driving as wreckless as he did. And the best he can come up with are tired old excuses he probably hears daily. "I didnt see you" REALLY!!??!!

He really needs to be fired and more charges applied. Endangering other motorist, evading police, resisting arrest, operating a vehicle at a unsafe rate of speed, inproper lane change.

If it was anybody other than a cop, they would have been hit with a LOT more charges

Sheriffs and city police are two different divisions where they may not agree on how all laws are enforced. This is how it was meant to be when they were the shire reef working under the king's authority and were dealing with corrupt local law enforcement.

I have seen where a sheriff has politely and openly questioned the actions of the local police.

I don't know how this breaks down on a departmental level.

Misdemeanor moving violation is nothing. Regular people get felony speeding (plus every other charge the arresting officer can apply, i.e. failure to signal).

Is this the outing of another CruiserTwelve Alt?

Perhaps it's just a cover or his plain-clothes identity.
