But, I absolutely hate the Florida Gators, and I don't subscribe to his particular faith, but he seems like a good kid and I just don't see any reason to hate him. I'd rather my son idolize Tebow than Michael Vick.

I'm with you. I "hate" the Gators (so named because people in Florida have a hard time spelling a four syllable word). I don't hate Tebow. His struggles at the beginning of the year were probably compounded by the lockout and change in coaching staff. I don't wish an particular harm to Tebow. I think all the Tebow hate comes from the fact that he is hyped so much in the media that it's to a Favre level, but Favre had earned it. He's hyped as much as Brady and Manning. Before this year, all Tebow had was a 1-2 record. Hardly hype-worthy. Admittedly, a lot is wrong with the Broncos. But that excuse can be used to justify any quarterback's failure at that franchise. Between 2009 and 2010, the Broncos had pretty much the same offensive stats, but their defense tanked. Hard to have success as a QB when that's happening, no matter who you are.
I'm reserving my judgement on Tebow for this year. He has a chance this weekend to beat a team that's actually won a game. Until then, whatever. I'd still draft him in fantasy football, because that's about numbers more than anything.
