Are you farking kidding me? He's using his winnings to pay his rent. Doesn't sound like money laundering to me. Perhaps if Utah wasn't so anti-gambling, anti-fun it could raise tax revenue by allowing legalize gambling. This isn't going to stop underground gambling and a waste of taxpayer money and police resources.

Looks like Norman Chad was unavailable for his useful insight on this matter.

"following a months-long gambling investigation is back in jail, having allegedly been caught running underground poker games while on pre-trial release."

OH THANK HEAVENS!! We are finally safe from the menace of this violent poker gang. Is tragic how many innocents get killed in drive-by poker tournaments.

Come on, do you know the risk of going after gang bangers and the like? You could get shot and even when you arrest those guys, they don't have any money for fines and court costs.

Police target such underground poker tournaments because of the associated crimes that often rise from people losing or winning large sums of cash.

Well that's....fanciful.

Hypothetical Imperative: Police target such underground poker tournaments because of the associated crimes that often rise from people losing or winning large sums of cash.

Actually, a cop lost a large sum of cash about a month ago at just such a poker game.

When the police caught him , he was flush with cash. He said he was going to chip in to the FOP widows and orphans fund, but he'd lost his marker.

I wonder what finally tripped him up? Oh, and the cops who did this are deucebags.

I am *shocked* to find that no one has used the "I am *shocked*..." meme yet.

I've heard of illegal poker games getting robbed. That would be pretty scary.
That's why I always sit close to an exit. I mean, I WOULD sit next to an exit...

I've actually played at some of his games. Mostly a $1/$2 NL or a $2/$5 LHE so he's not exactly living like a king off the rake. Fun honest game with enough new players kept in rotation you could usually leave with a nice profit.
Good for the cops in keeping this dangerous man off the street. Now if I want to find an illegal poker game I might have to drive 10 minutes in any direction.

I like how it's "Police target such underground poker tournaments because of the associated crimes that often rise from people losing or winning large sums of cash."

They can't even identify the actual problem.

And they aren't targeting the Stock Exchange because. . ..
