Much respect.

Maybe not news, quite, but those of us who're fond of critters think it is news. Not Sappy, either, like the tag.
Conga-cats (because 10 let us live with them) to Ft Carson for naming the dog park for them! I'm fetching mention of this to Caturday, now also open, where dogs are loved & appreciated too.

Not quite apropos; not a real dog, not Cooper, but coulda sorta been Cooper had both he & Cory lived to come home. Rest in honoured peace, guys.

What a happy Lab and handler look like.

I love this picture. A Lab doing what Labs love to do most. Going to the dog park with my boy this afternoon. Many tennis balls will be fetched in honor of Cooper and Cpl. Wiens.

Yep, that's what my Lab does, lays down on top of us. Not real fun when the Lab is 100 lbs. The dog is comfortable and happy, we're gasping for breath.

Oh yeah. No breath, no circulation in the legs. Wouldn't trade those moments for the world. Here's my 110 lb. lap dog.

He's like a huge hot water bottle when he decides to hop up on my recliner with me sandwiched between him and the chair. I've missed more football games from falling asleep since I've had him.

Because it's so uplifting to mourn senseless losses in a senseless, endless war. But even moreso when innocent animals get killed. Death is death, that's all it is.

/Yay America?
//Is death sad?
///Is death noble?
////Is death heroic?
//If people who save others from death are heroes, are the ones who die also heroes? Are those who kill others heroes? Just ask a soldier.

retriever, Fang Q for pix (1st one saved, wl paste to article shortly) & you & HoneyDog both for comments.
Furry nap inducers come in at least 2 species, likely more.

Hero is a term of gratitude. If you're not grateful, then no, they're probably not heroes. Not to you at least.

How's your latte?

My lap dog. Mine has squished me by getting on top of me in the recliner too. He's even tipped us over more than once by trying to crawl up and lay his head on my shoulder while I was in the reclining position.

Recliners should be supplied with every Labrador. Period.

And that is one gorgeous pup you have there.

Last line choked me up:

"When the Army sent back his things," McAlister said, "there were so many dog toys."

Here is our huge girl

We dont let her on the couch. she's still too young to sit still for 5 seconds. But her tummy does warm the feet well.

Something is named after something not for it. You had something, something else came after it so you name it after it.

Gah

Of course, FT Carson is the Mountain Post and the 10th Mtn division (WWII) trained at Camp Hale Link (new window) which is right near Ski Cooper so that might have something to do with the name of the park also.

/rumor has it that Camp Hale was there to protect the Climax Mine from Red Dawn or something

Thanks! Can you believe he was somebody's reject? He was picked up as a stray and then sat in a foster home for 7 months until we adopted him. We were just out looking for a new sibling for him today. His brother decided to go the the bridge on Thursday.

LOVES a dog thread.

They've been out "helping" dad paint a fence, been for a swim in the river while mum went rowing and are now chewing bones after big hugs.
