Did you know that there are three types of Aggies?

Those who can count and those who can't.

Part of what I like about living in Pennsylvania is that every bordering state is inferior to us. Not to say that we're so great, but come on we've got Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and Delaware. We've got a LOT to work with. Also we make fun of Texas.

Not only is Rick Perry utterly incapable of running for president, he can't run his state, and in fact can't meet the basic requirement for any politician -- he can't even run his mouth

Carville cracks me up.

It's too soon to write off Perry. He still has all the essentials that makes your average conservative voter cream their shorts... Christian, white, gun lover from Texas. However his strongest attributes are what he is not... black, mormon, fat, old, or female.

I don't think people turn off and on like that. He was a golden boy, and now he's in the single digits. He's got 2 months to get his shiat together, and Carville seems to say he's just not capable of that.

And if the United States had even half of the jobs numbers that Texas has had in recent years liberals would be screaming it from every roof top from sea to shining sea as proof positive that their ideas actually work.

I may not think much of Perry these days either but to have a Democrat go on about somebody else not doing a very good job given the epic failure of Obama's presidency is laughable.

A joke that reflects modern reality goes something like this

"Perry is doing so badly that we're starting to think he's a Democrat again"

Don't forget the money. Having money will keep his campaign running much longer than having credibility.

On the jobs growth point, Perry is taking credit for something that's been going on for decades (new window) in Texas.

The first thing I look for when scouring for presidential bona fides is a purported candidate shrieking and hiding under the table because he can't handle the awesome wordsmithery of the likes of Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney -- it really gives me confidence that a man like Perry will really step up when the chips are down.

Yes, his continual defunding of Texas schools and tuition hikes in our universities so his corporate buddies can get more tax breaks and create some minimum wage jobs in the state is truly a shining beacon of Christian compassion.

I live in the other end of the state but I was in Philly last year, seemed like a nice city to me. Even saw my first Toynbee square there. Then I went to New Jersey and got yelled at for trying to pump my own gas. I'm pretty sure every state adjacent to us sucks worse than we do, and again I'm not saying that we don't suck, we just don't suck as much.

Because The Texas Miracle was so magnificent that Perry slashed firefighting money by 75 percent this year even as the wildfires destroyed the state (new window)? That was awesome. Don't want none of that liberal communism collectivism, do we?

On the one hand, not having to pump your own gas is nice because you can go into the Wawa and get a sub. But on the other, since my exposure to Philly is limited to one trip to the Franklin Hall of Science (which was nice), Independence Park (which was nice but I witnessed a pretty bad car crash while I was going to a nearby restaurant), and multiple trips to the Phillies games... as a Mets fan, I can understand why I wasn't greeted with the utmost courtesy.

Hey, don't judge us by our sports fans!

Seriously though, have you been here? It's pretty clean for a big city and there's low crime, and we got a ton of stimulus money for infrastructure and urban renewal projects, so even the roads are starting to look better.

Not to mention, the OWS crowd might as well be royalty compared to the way they're being treated in other cities.
