When you want a hot meal without a big deal, what the hell would you pick?

Hot Pockets burn something and it isn't my mouth.

"Even more important, the new microsensors are biocompatible and can be sterilized without affecting performance, " Kishida added.

I thought there was a problem with sterilizing prions?

Because ramen doesn't have a catchy jingle?

I'd pick ramen 9 out 10 times, but that's just me. I got burnt out on hot pockets a long time ago. Besides, ramen can be vastly improved with a little bit of seasoning (i.e. lots of hot sauce).

And some curry spices. And some seafood, even canned clams or mussels. Yes indeed.

it may be nuclear lava on the outside, but is it frozen in the center?

Depends on my mood, and how hot I want it to be. If I feel like setting my mouth on fire I'll grab the stuff I find in the Mexican food isle (can't remember the name off the top of my head and I'm too lazy to go look). If i just want some flavor with a little bit of kick I'll go with Cajun Power. Sometimes I'll get the stuff with the rooster on the bottle too.

Yeah...but by that point, you're actually 'cooking'...which is precisely the sort of activity ramen and hot pockets seek to avoid.

Hot Pockets - Self contained deliciousness, or Ramen - plain spaghetti.

You have to boil the water anyway, so tossing a handful of veggies isn't much further in that direction... The egg can be done with the instant cup version as well, you just need to leave the lid on for a couple extra minutes.

I remember them being quite tasty years ago but at some point they replaced the cheese they were using with whatever plastic, cheese-like substance they use now.

dnrtfa but let me guess: because it's faster and easier to microwave a hot pocket than cook ramen when you're high.

//what did I win?

Faster? No. Easier? Only by the strictest definition of the term.

I don't know what hot pocket is, but it can't be much worse than some dough stripes boiled in mix of old oil and drain water.

The researchers report that they were surprised to observe that "the slope of the dopamine signal over a period five seconds prior to a market price update correlated with subsequent market returns..., demonstrating that it is a significant predictor of future market activity."

Daryl Bem may already have been interested in these results.

Srsly though, Bem's stuff was just stats cheats. Right? It had to be... but daaaammmn, future prediction would be a pretty competitive evolutionary mechanism... .. could really bring into question some of our assumptions about time and the nature of reality.

Now, sure, in an example like a fake stock market, there probably are quantifiably predictable trends... but speculatin' just for fun... could our brains be taking advantage of something like quantum entanglement through time to predict their own future states?

When my daughter was about ten, I told her about Perot's prediction that if free trade opened up with Mexico, we would hear a "giant sucking sound" as jobs drained out of the US.

She immediately asked "Did he make a sound effect?"

Ever since then, every time Ross Perot comes up, I always picture him at the debate lectern screwing his face up and going "SSSCCCHHHWWWWUUUUPPPP."

That's the sound I make when I eat ramen, so you're probably in the right thread after all.

(I did enjoy your story though.)

Uncooked ramen noodles are better than Hot Pockets

Well mainly because I like to cook my ramen for 7 mins and hot pockets take 2 1/2 at the most.
