WTF? Why would you wear that clunky piece of junk on your wrist where everyone can see it when you could just stick a normal pipe in your pocket?

Are pop cans next on the agenda? When I was In high school there wasn't much I couldn't smoke weed out of.

Wait until they find out about the apples.

You can get suspended just for having one that hasn't even been used for smoking weed. Thankfully no one is going overboard here.

Kids aren't that bright nowadays.

Dear high school administrators:

A certain percentage of your students smoke pot. Banning a specific type of bracelet will not lower that percentage. Nor will actively encouraging the bracelets raise that percentage. The fact is, some kids are going to smoke pot and others aren't, and there is not a damned thing that you can do to change that.

This is especially the case for high school administrators, since the students know that, at one time in the not too distant past, you were education majors and therefore you almost certainly smoke pot too, you silly hypocrites.

You can stab a person to death with a ballpoint pen, so let's ban ballpoint pens.

You can kill somebody by running into them with a car, so let's ban cars.

You can brutally rape somebody with a penis, so let's ban penises.

The slower kids didn't know WHY we laughed at them for wearing onions on their belts, they just thought it was the style at the time.

Florida is formed of coral and sand bases, covered by cocaine, topsoil, and marijuana. You don't see rock in Florida that doesn't cost $20 a gram. You ever see that hole in the middle? It's not Lake Okeechobee, it's a mouth. That's how Florida smokes joints.

I had a badass one-hitter that never left my room. I also had a pushpin and and empty Dr. Pepper can in my car at all times for emergency purposes. I could make a very serviceable piece of paraphernalia, and thought I was McGuyver until I found out that everyone was doing it.

Lack of a proper pipe has never stopped a determined smoker, has it?

If it ever becomes legal then it will be too expensive/taxed for many teens to buy, I imagine.

I'm a longtime glass user. When I was arrested for possession, my lawyer was honestly surprised to find that anybody used anything but rolling papers, because they were available at every store and there was no evidence after you used them.

The gas station kiosk (the kind you can't walk into) near me now sells glass pieces.

God bless America.

I'm gonna have to grab one of those for a friend of mine. He collects pipes (as well as smokes from them). He's got one his dad brought home from a tour of duty in SE Asia . Pretty typical motif of a dragon that puffs smoke from its open mouth, only this one was carved from jade and cherry wood. Beautiful piece of art. Tried to find a picture of something like it, but I didn't see anything that resembled it.

/Never got to smoke out of it tho. (I'd rather have cookies)

lol

well that should do it.

finally, they've fixed the teenage pot smoker problem.

what is with people that desperately try to hold back the inevitable out of a pure and ignorant need to control the world around them?

was the 'no drug paraphernalia' rule they already had just not enough to address this issue?

Probably more painful than the beer I snorfed when I read it.

From the headline: Florida Bans Bracelets

From the article: So far, OCPS has not punished any student for having the bracelet.

Did you send us the wrong link? I read one about a specific type of bracelet that has a pipe weaved into it. Which is basically drug paraphinalia with twine and some beads around it. I'm not exactly Cotton Mather, but I don't think the authorities are losing it on this one.

"Whose responsibility is it going to be to look for this? Is it going to be the teacher's responsibility," asked Barbay. "And then, what do you do about the kids that have it on or its planted on them and they don't even know what it's for? Then you're punishing some students who truly may not understand what they're wearing, and this could get in the hands of younger kids and then you have a whole other problem."

And what do we do if kids start thinking about drugs at home? And what if they start dreaming about them in their sleep? What if someday a student who saw one of these bracelets didn't do drugs but then they did and we didn't know about it? What if I ran out of ways to meddle in how other people raise their kids? What if the moon fell out of the sky??

How about just legalize it. Teach your kids the truth. Arm them with knowledge and allow them to be responsible.
