I just did the Guinness book of Records one in Dixon California, or at least that what their old sign says, it could have been outdone now, and it was fun. It was soooooooo big it was crazy. Then we went for some drinks. Good time if you are in the area and have 10 bucks to spare.

Anyone else happen to do this one?

Also please don't light it on fire.

Thats a hell of a challenge that they could have taken advantage of and charged extra money to run through the maze whilest on fire. More of a challenge for sure,,,,HAHAHAHA

It was the first time the bales caught fire in the roughly 13 years since Mandeville opened the maze. People have "maliciously destroyed" some bales in the past - part of the reason for the motion detector lights - but there has never been a fire, he said.

Mandeville noted that there used to be a fire department a stone's throw away from the maze until the late 1990s and that his grandfather served as fire chief.

The very very latest "late 1990s" could be would be December of 1999. Which would mean just barely under 12 years ago. If the only year that there was a fire department there was the first year - and no other years - then "used to be" is a bit disingenuous. IMO.

Sucks about his maze, though.
