Team atypical!

2011-10-28 06:52:51 PM
Under, no, yes, yes, have both, no, yes.

Well, technically I make less than $12k. I don't think it's completely fair to discount the tuition break.

Aarontology: Yes, no, yes, yes, no, no, no.

Team atypical!

That's how people are doing it? Okay then Yes, No, Yes, Yes, No, No, No.

I tried learning Mandarin at one point, but I ended up getting a better job instead of the one I was learning it for out of nowhere. Dalian would have been cool, though....

SnakeLee: I tried learning Mandarin at one point, but I ended up getting a better job instead of the one I was learning it for out of nowhere. Dalian would have been cool, though....

It's definitely going to be useful in the near future, especially in the business world.

42, don't speak Mandarin, have a car, not a Christian. So I'm batting .500

2011-10-28 07:39:18 PM
I'm 98, talk to oranges, have a couple right hands around here somewhere, communicate by licking, fly, believe my toilet is a bank, and make all the money I need by posing nude for my cats, so don't you worry none.

i have forgotten the question.

2011-10-28 07:41:10 PM
47, once banged a Chinese chick, got two cell phones, have a car but hate driving, have a bank account, atheist and make over 4x that amount. I am the 99%.

2011-10-28 07:42:54 PM
Why is it a man? Aren't there slightly more women than men in the world?

2011-10-28 07:45:58 PM
No to everything but Christian.

I believe Jesus is Lord.

I wonder what that means?

2011-10-28 07:57:11 PM
Hey, I'm almost half typical:

27, speaks Mandarin, owns a cell phone, right handed, but I a bank account, I'm not Christian, and I make more than $12K a year.

The Onion is prophetic: coco ebert: Why is it a man? Aren't there slightly more women than men in the world?

Not in China

It's the Earth's most typical person, not China's.

2011-10-28 09:50:27 PM
Yes, yes, no, no, yes, no. WINNING! I do speak broken Japanese though, does that count?

2011-10-28 10:25:26 PM
You Cant Explain That: No to everything but Christian.

I believe Jesus is Lord.

I wonder what that means?

You're left handed and going to Hell, so skip the proselytizing?

2011-10-28 11:02:25 PM
Christian is typical now? I'm honestly surprised, no snark.

/Speak a little bit of Mandarin from required foreign language classes in college
/not Christian, earn more than $12K, have a bank account though

2011-10-28 11:36:04 PM
Whew...snuck in under the 4 billionth mark on the linked calculator. Nothing but riffraff and queers past 4 billion...

I'm 53, speak Yue, am right-handed, I don't own a cell phone, I have a car and a bank account, atheist, and make way more than $12K/year.

I AM one of the something something %.

2011-10-28 11:50:34 PM
If >$12,000 is average I guess a lot of Americans are in the 1% of income globally.

2011-10-28 11:52:15 PM
You forgot the hyena.

2011-10-28 11:52:45 PM
No, yes, no, no, yes, no, no.

I am the #28.57percent.

Plant Rights Activist: If >$12,000 is average I guess a lot of Americans are in the 1% of income globally.

Here's the think about bullshiat statistics like this.

When you have no money, money can buy more. If I move to Thailand from Tokyo but do the same job, my pay rate will fall to about 20% of what I make now, maximum.

The difference is, in Thailand where salaries are much lower, 20% of what I make now could get me a sweet apartment and a flat screen while in Tokyo I can't even afford to toss out my old CRT because a replacement would be insanely expensive for a single man.

28 for one more week, no mandarin- English, Spanish, and Japanese fit my life better, I am proficient with both hands, I do own a basic cell phone, I have a car, I have a bank account, I have no religion, and I make more than 12k/year.

So I am 3/16th's average give or take. I'm not sure if that makes me above or below average though.

2011-10-29 12:14:27 AM
No, no, no, yes, no, no, no, no. Boom.

2011-10-29 12:25:04 AM

55, read Mandarin somewhat, righty but should have been a lefty I feel, yes cellphone, get around by motorbike, Jewish, >$12K. Cellphone and no car for sure, the rest barely or not at all.

2011-10-29 12:32:41 AM
Oh, and I was born about #2,750,000,000.

Isn't this redundant?

(I kid.)

itazurakko: Christian is typical now? I'm honestly surprised, no snark.

As typical as anything, I guess. Not an absolute majority, but a plurality at around 33% or so.

2011-10-29 12:57:24 AM
Majick Thise: No, no, bi, yes, no, no, no, no

Atypical together.

A wayyyyys back, down in Southern Thailand, I was making 7K a year teaching young Thai women how to speak English.
Best 2 years of my life.
"Poverty" wages can buy you happiness my son, as long as you live in the right place.

I'm 25, speak English and a little French, am mixed-handed, own a cell phone, am car and bank account-less, Christian and make around $12K (I think).

I know it. Sadly, they're buying me debt. If I could just lay hands on a 5 million a year job I'd be fine in two months, but no...

Sigh. farkin' japan .... At least tonight I get to see breasticies at a giant Halloween party. Nothin's better than painted boobs.

FTFA: He fits the profile National Geographic came up with based on a set of data points that concluded there are 9 million Han Chinese men

Soooo, is that like a Chinese version of Han Solo?

some_beer_drinker: who the fark doesnt have a bank account?

Anyone in a truly rural area.

You think some rice farmer in the middle of china who can barely afford to feed themselves is worried about compound interest when there's seeds to plant, stalls to muck, and chores to do. No time to put your money in a bank when you're farming by hand.

American farmers used to be like that too. Since industrial farming happened, they finally got enough money to make a living farming as opposed to survive as sharecroppers.

Yeoman used to be a minor title simply because owning land isn't always the easiest thing to do. The Industrialized world is special. There's still billions of people who aren't in that world, however.

People don't realize how rich the typical American is. Even a poor American is wealthy on the global scale.

It kind of adds a new element to the whole 'top 1%' concept.

"No, no, no, I don't think that I should have to give money to starving kids in Africa, I just meant the top 1% of super rich Americans should give money to me....someone who is already wealthy by the lower standards found throughout the rest of the world. I don't care that the typical Mexican earns 4.6k per year which is rich compared to the median Indian earner. No, I don't support higher taxes on *ME* to give them a better life. No, I don't want to talk about the inequalities a poor child in rural India faces when compared to the life my child will have. None of that is what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about people richer than *me* who should be taxed more so that I can have more. I don't care about those other people. They are really poor, but umm, I don't want to give up anything I have for them. They aren't like us, they are different. So yeah, let's just focus on really, really, really rich people and their money and how we should take more of it and give it to kinda rich people, like myself'

Fark_Guy_Rob: I'm talking about people richer than *me* who should be taxed more so that I can have more.

Yeah, because it's all about handouts, and not to educate, build up, heal, and defend the nation.

Idiot.

Uh...I own a cell phone.

Does he live in a cardboard box??
