Except the "music video" channels only do reality now.

2011-10-28 06:42:09 PM
Maybe this will lead to MTV becoming an adult animated channel instead of remaining the 16 and Guido channel

It was definitely the first time I've watched MTV since the 90's. I liked the episode, but why wasn't it in 16:9 format? I'll tell you why, because they were inserting old footage in there from the original show, and that wasn't shot in 16:9. Footage of them on the couch, you could tell when because it was much crappier quality. Bad form Mr. Judge, bad form. I want all new footage and I want it widescreen.

We never should have sent that kid to Hogwart's.

I really missed those guys.

I'm glad Judge was able to get the rights back from the soulless corporation that is Viacom. No longer is it "MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head." It proudly states "Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head" in the opening title.

I don't mind the retread of some animation. It drives home the fact that for these guys, nothing has changed. The animation is the same, not updated. They are wearing the same clothes and are the same stupid asses they always were.

2011-10-28 07:33:00 PM
Huh, never knew "Butt-head" was hyphenated. He's like Spider-man!

I doubt Judge owns the rights to Beavis and Butthead.

However, in the time since the original series, Mike Judge has become well known for Office Space and Idiocracy. His name holds more value than ""MTV", especially with the Beavis and Butthead audience. In the original series, MTV was the brand name, Mike Judge was nobody.

That was the most of Jersey Shore I have ever seen. I pray they don't do that regularly.

The episode of fantastic.

J-Woww: When my grandkids ask me where I learned to make pizza I'm gonna say FLORENCE, biatch
Beavis: So she's gonna call her grandkids biatch?
Butthead: You're the best grandma ever, Grandma J-Woww
Beavis: Please don't hit us again
Beavis: Are Uncle Juicehead and Grandpa Gorilla gonna help us make pizza?
Butthead: Grandma J-Woww, where did you get syphillis?
Beavis: Yeah tell us that story, biatch.

I farking died at this part.

Maybe. More people have heard of MTV than have heard of Mike Judge. Maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part. I sincerely hope he did get the rights back. I remember him being sore at MTV for only allowing the show on their precious network if they owned it. They really low-balled him as far as money goes too, especially when it came to merch.

I remember him on the Stern show many years ago talking about that.

I think B&BH are too witty and verbally adept in the new show.

They're supposed to be very stupid, so when they say something clever it comes as a surprise.

Now it's like MST.

It might make you feel dirty, but MTV has the full episode on their site.

I found that I didn't laugh nearly as much as I did back during the first run. Then I remembered that I was in college between 93-97 and perpetually farked up on all manner of intoxicants back then.

Waiting for the Jersey Shore douchebags to start crying that B&B called them out for being douchebags.

I think they were always (slightly) more astute during the music video segments than the story segments. Being repeatedly bitten by a hep-infected bum to become a werewolf is still really farking stupid.

Do those people on 16 and Pregnant and The Jersey Shore know what douchebags they are? I would like to see cameras on them as they watch Beavis and Butt Head making fun of them.

South Park, Beavis and Butt-head. Damn, i now have reasons to turn on the TV now.

I'm kind of glad that the boys have seemingly gained one or two IQ points since the '90s. It's works. There were a few episodes back in the day where they'd say things like "Huh-huh, we're dumb" and "heh-heh, oh yeah, i forgot" and it was pretty lame.

Much prefer "why were we born as us?"

Because Mike Judge likes to get paid for his work? The guys who run the servers like to get paid for their work? The guys who run MTV like to get paid for the work of other people? You know capitalism.

I wouldn't say they are that much more intelligent. Perhaps you only caught the dvds without the music videos?

Back in the day the original had plenty of genuinely funny and witty remarks and most of them were in the watching t.v./music video couch scenes that got edited out for the dvds.

This is why we biatched (and didn't buy) when they released them, those were the funniest scenes in the show.

And that's what I was trying to explain to Ass Exploder. I think he feels that Beavis and Butt-head are too "smart" now, and I'm just explaining that wise-ass remarks on clips/idiotic behavior elsewhere to balance it out is how the show has always been.

Was very pleased with their return -- it has been 14 long years and at least not much has changed -- liking how they still do videos with the programming riffs too.

Hope this new version does well.

/you hear that TNN/Spike? You don't have to go fark up the premise and the fan base like you did when you rebooted Ren & Stimpy!
