Anti-reflective coatings have been available for decades. Just check your binoculars, camera lenses or eyeglasses (not valid in the US, as the US lacks *way* behind Europe and Asia when it comes to A/R eyeglass lenses).

Reflections and glare are the bane of my existence. Between my MacBook Air... ###THREAD CLOSED###

I don't care if it's an Apple product or something from any other manufacturer, giving the full product name makes you a pretentious asshole.

Between my MacBook Air and my HDTV, I'm constantly adjusting screens to minimize glare from lamps and the sun.

I used to work in an office that had that "glass lobby facing the elevators" and one day while hyped on caffine I went strolling out for a smoke at high speed while reading a code printout.

Big, nose-smearking *BONK* up against the glass when I guessed wrong as to which panel I should walk through.

There was a guy waiting for the elevator and his jaw dropped and he forgot to push the elevator button simultaneously.

Yeah, once I picked myself off the carpet after THAT particular Buster Keaton...

Go ahead and laugh... I did. That was dumbass. I managed to be all three Stooges in one convenient package.

You don't seem to be familiar with Gizmodo's special blend of ignorance and banal technology worship. You can get a link from them if you build something out of Lego that's never been done before, like a washing machine or telescope. Or if you fark one of their interns but don't get her off.

What about transparent aluminum? The chemical formula was given to Plexicorp in 1986, why isn't it on the market by now?

Anti-reflective coatings have been around since WWII. IIRC they were developed for aircraft instruments and the like.

But what the hell are talking about the US lagging in AR coatings on eyeglass lenses? I've had them on my glasses for years, and it wasn't that expensive or exotic.

Oh, and I've been using this stuff (new window)for the last ten years. Love it.

great. another 100 bucks to charge me for glasses that will be crappy and scratched up in 6 months. if it was a new glass recipe or something, that'd be sweet. however, this sounds like another "undercoating" except for glasses unless its also as hard a diamonds.
