"Michele Bachmann has fought and championed the tea party core values - the fiscal responsibility, the constitutional and limited government and free markets on Capitol Hill - oftentimes when very few others were willing to take up the mantle. And tea party supporters appreciate her for championing their cause repeatedly and consistently."

"This is not a serious presidential campaign."

This could be said about ANY of the current candidates.

I had to stop laughing to type this. Which is pretty much my point.

I think John Huntsman's campaign for VP in 2016 is serious.

They've dallied with her and Herman Cain, and it's been fun, but, in the end, it's gotta be an old white guy. Preferably a fat one.

Granted.

However, for my batshiat-insane conservative chick dollar, I still think Sarah Palin or Christine O'Donnell do more for me.

Sorry. Michele is a self appointed leader or the tea party. She can only be removed by coup.

"His group operates in seven states, trains thousands of tea party supporters "

This is why the Tea Party is not a real movement. REAL supporters of a movement don't need to be trained (indoctrinated), real movements don't need funding from anonymous donors with deep pockets ... they just happen organically like this OWS movement has.

I'm sure you could find a service on the Internet that would allow you to buy "likes". You could probably get a 100,000 Indian/Chinese kids to "likes" someone for less than $50. Quick, if you can't find it on Google, register the domain: "www.socialnetworkcred.com", "offtheshelfcred", "credwhore.com", "cannedcred", "likemeplease.com"

I'm... shocked.

I've been saying all along that I guessed Bachmann would end up losing the gop nomination and quite possibly picking up a third-party teabagger candidate nomination, making for a hilarious 2012 election season. That the tea party (or some substantial subset of the group) isn't happy with her surprises me.

The only saving grace for my wounded prognosticating ego is that I'd also been saying that the extremist teabagger expectations were impossible to meet for any one candidate, that being in agreement with them 99.99% meant you the 0.01% was still completely unacceptable to them, they would over time eat their own and collapse into a singularity of stupid. I just didn't think it wasn't happening *yet* or at this rate.

If the teabaggers are throwing Bachmann to the wolves they might as well cease to exist, they aren't going to find a better-fitting loon. How in the world could this subgroup be supporting former-democrat, lets-give-illegals-instate-tuition and farking-vaccines to young girls Perry? I want this group to implode but I want them to implode during the actual election season not before.

The question isn't whether Bachmann can win the nomination because she can't. The question is whether she or another tea party loon will run as a 3rd candidate and ensure an Obama victory by siphoning off 7-10% of the vote.

Heck Nader only took about 1% (I believe) and that still gave the election to Bush (sorta).
