That assumes the Google Searches are a direct correlation to amount of public interest. The Demographics of both movements would tend to lend toward why one was more google searched than the other.

Apparently somebody missed the 2010 elections. They have definitely been co-opted by the fundi's, loonies and neo-cons by this point, but at there peak they were very popular with a good cross section of this country.

They were always a rebranding of the Republican party, and they were so popular and effective that their support managed to lose the Republicans some sure-thing seats.

OWS is global too. They're having solidarity marches in a bunch of countries. England,France and Egypt I can name right off the bat.
