In theory, I have no problem with sales tax online. *IF* it's applied fairly and evenly to ALL commercial businesses online. Problem is that they either expect a small retailer in Florida to know what all the tax practices for Bumfark, Alaska are or that ONLY Amazon has to collect sales taxes.

Personally? I say either make it a federal sales tax that's even nation wide or a state sales tax that is at the rate of the state where it is shipped from.

Amazon.com is all about bringing the world information. Except any information whatsoever about its political activity

No kidding. What's the upside of disclosure for them or any business? One side or the other will be pissed off, so it's understandable to just keep it off the radar.

They're also needy as hell.
