It seemed from the article that the ATV riders were trespassing on his property.

It seems odd to me that the court kept his guns despite the charges being dropped, citing the recomendation of the police department.

I think this guy could appeal the case and win his guns back.

And I think the fact that he was naked stems from the fact that he was probably asleep when the trespassers arrived. Although it doesn't state that in the article.

Still, self defense is a stretch when shooting someone in the back b/c you wanted to find out who they were.

Regardless of whether or not the ATV riders were trespassing, that guy is still too f*cking stupid to possess a firearm. He'd probably do the same with the crossbow too.

I'm torn here. You ought to put some clothes on when you're shooting at people, but maybe he just forgot in the excitement of getting out there and shooting at ATV riders, which I entirely approve of.

Whats with all the ATV rider hate? Maybe the guys were just lost? Last time I checked you cant just shoot at people in the back who are trespassing on your property, especially when they are not directly threatening you.
