It won't load for me but let me guess. Tom Cruise poses a lot, shiat explodes and it has nothing to do with the M:I TV show?

Countdown to the "Tom does all his own stunts" PR crap in 5,4,3....

Cool. Though I liked it when it was called Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

Flint Ironstag: Countdown to the "Tom does all his own stunts" PR crap in 5,4,3....

It's better than the "Tom Cruise saves family of four from hungry mountain lion" type stories that ran a few years back.

40 minutes of jogging + 40 minutes of shooting + 40 minutes of sprinting while talking on the phone?

That trailer only had about 4 nannoseconds of the only thing I care about in that movie: Josh Holloway!

I am disappoint!

I really don't like Tom Cruise, but I keep having to see his films, as he works with directors I love.

In this case, I'm really curious about Brad Bird's first live-action film.

I was already going to go see it and think it looks great. For those of you on the fence about seeing it, rumor is that they're going to show the first 7 or 8 minutes of The Dark Knight Rises before the it. Yeah, you're going now.

You do realize this movie franchise predates Call of Duty?

Lea Sydoux is in this, she's alright.

Yes, I do. I but I also realize that this movie plot doesn't.

It's directed by Brad Bird. I'm interested.

Yeah. Internal Conflict is high in my person.

Bird is the greatest thing that happened to Disney/Pixar CG. "WAIT! You mean we don't HAVE to make failed plastic attempts at realistic human characters if we actually insert some STYLE into our character designs????"

Only in IMAX, just to let people know.

That's not a "stunt". That's "Attached to a harness that makes it physically impossible for you to come to any harm"

I've rappelled, and you have control of your descent. Tom was attached to a wire that meant the stunt guy was in charge of his descent. Okay, points for not being scared of heights, but you could put anyone in that harness and throw them out and they'd not come to any harm.

A "stunt" is doing something dangerous.

This is not Tom's fault BTW. It is simply not a risk the movies insurers would ever take. Even him breaking an ankle in the middle of production could cost $50 million. They will simply not let him take that risk with their money.

not disagreeing with ya. Just stating that the cycle you were alluding to has already sort of stated.

I agree. Funny thing was a few years ago I watched the DVD of MI2 and the BTS stuff was full of the "Tom does all his own stunts" stuff but you hardly saw any. The only one you saw was him doing a jump that, again, was controlled by a wire. Literally a sack of potatoes would have done the same thing.
At the same time I watched Underworld, and the BTS stuff showed Kate Beckinsale rehearsing a wire stunt where she jumped thirty feet in the air and did a somersault, and did a jokey "Grrrr" to the camera on landing.

So I have seen more evidence of Kate Beckinsale doing a real stunt than Tom Cruise.

Here's the plot.

Ethan and team start off on an ordinary mission. It gets compromised and results in an international incident. Ethan's team is disavowed and hunted down. They try to fix it by finding out who set them up. BIG PLOT TWIST!!! One of Ethan's team is connected to the guys who set up Ethan's team. Simon Pegg makes a couple dry and sarcastic jokes. Fightsplosions, some hot girl ends up dying. Ethan saves the day and leads another team into the sunset as another mission comes up. THE END

I'm a huge fan of movies and enjoy Mapother's work, but I have never seen any of the MI movies for some reason. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing.

/never seen Cocktail either

The problem is that he thinks he can do all sorts of risky things because of his Scientology superpowers when he's actually being cosseted and protected by a vast team of stuntmen, riggers and other professionals.

/yes, I used the word "cosseted"

Like Michael Mann, Collateral? That guy can shoot a cityscape.

Why are gamers so stupid? Even traffic accidents are always GTA references, and everything abandoned is "Fallout".
