Jon Huntsman's standing is proof that the GOP has gone insane. Which is good news for Terry Jones.

See, this is why you don't give them attention in the first place. Whether it's this guy, the Phelps family, or Joe the Plumber, once you give them that taste of attention, they'll follow you around forever.

Outpolling Huntsman? He'll probably be the leader in two weeks.

Did he actually burn the books for just threaten to burn them?

2011-10-27 10:49:16 AM
I wonder if he'll go with the "Mormonism is a cult" thing. Because it certainly appears his sham of a church is an authoritarian cult that uses slave labor.

He burned at least one eventually.

So all Cain has to do to stay on top is burn two. He can't allow a burned Quran gap.

With Perry, Bachmann, Ginrich, and Santorum still in the race, I could see that getting rapidly out of hand.

I really wouldn't mind if the republican nomination became a book burning arms race. I wouldn't be surprised either.

Seems like every other right-wing fringe nut job is in the race already.

This is bad news for Perry and Bachmann as he can kick either one of their asses in the lunatic contest.

Every time I see Jon Huntsman I think of Jon Hodgman and get excited. He'd have my vote.

This is how low America has sunk. This asshole actually thinks he has a chance. I'm amazed at the complete stupidity America has shown in the last few years. It's a sad, sad time for this country. I used to be proud of my country. Now I'm just embarrassed. It's sickening to think of what has become of America. Sad, truly sad.

It's the GOP, man... They traded up a while ago to accommodate.

don't understand: This is how low America has sunk. This asshole actually thinks he has a chance.

Don't read too much into it. He's just attention whoring. His church is shrinking and he's running out of money. That's the only reason he's doing this.

Now, the people who say, "Hey, I can get on board with that guy!"? That's sad.

xenophon10k: Jon Huntsman's standing is proof that the GOP has gone insane. Which is good news for Terry Jones.

If Huntsman wasn't pro-life he'd basically have to run as a Democrat

He's like Eisenhower, who himself could never get elected as a Republican today.

===========================================================

He backed down the first time he threatened to. Which is when the media gave him all the attention.

When he ultimately did it, no one [dunno about Faux Noise] cared to give him the publicity (thank goodness) so no one really cared and he faded back into obscurity.

Jon Hunstman's poll numbers merely prove that politicans with integrity are "unelectable" on the national scale. He refuses to bow to the tea party, refuses to enter the petty fray with Perry, Bachman, and Romney; and he chooses to stand up for Americans by speaking about important issues that matter. Yup, no way in hell either party would want him. He makes too much sence, and is way to open about reaching acorss the aisle. Oh, he also supports the sciences and the conclusive global warming evidence...

2012: Americans will get the president they deserve, not the president they want or need right now.

Obama was that guy in 2008 and the Democrats went for him bigtime. Don't pull that "either party" thing. The loonies have taken over the Republican party, plain and simple. Huntsman is the most electable guy of the entire bunch and he can't get 2% of the primary vote. Sad.

Let the book burner run and when Obama wins, the Republicans can once again shift further to the right and toss more moderates overboard.

I'm starting to think there should be an Attention Whore Party. Palin, Gingrich, Cain, and Pastor Farkface can be charter members.

The reviews are mixed; he's a hero to quite a few of them, but some think he's an idiot.

Desecration of Islamic religious books/items = racism, xenophobia, offensive, wrong, crazy

Desecration of Christian religious books/items = Perfectly acceptable, art, freedom of speech

I'm thinking that this might have something to do with the fact that Christians are not a major voting block for liberals... Oh wait, that's precisely why it's "okay" to be hateful towards them but "wrong" to hold Muslims with the same sort of contempt.

I'm an atheist and it boggles my mind... You can mock every other religion and the people who practice it to your hearts content, but the moment you start in on Islam you will have atheists start jumping up and down crying about racism and bigotry. Given that Christianity is crap and does all sorts of harm to the world it's still got nothing at all on the amount of damage being done to humanity by Islam, and I'm not even talking about terrorism.

This guy is an asshole.

I am getting a kick out of watching the obligatory ranting about Republicans when I cannot find anything in this article or anywhere else indicating he's running as one.

I'm waiting for the outrage when somebody calls Tahoe a tourist "mecca". Fatwas for everyone!
