How man Turkish League superstars that come off the bench?
How many washed up 36 year olds that come off the bench?

He's been nailing smokin' hot Turkish broads for the past year. I read an article about it in Esquire or something.

As amazing an athlete as he was, it wouldn't surprise me if he was capable of playing at an NBA level next year and contributing to a team.

The problem is he won't just lay back and accept a role as a third-string point guard/spark plug off the bench/mentor. He'll demand too much attention, create drama, etc. His ego demands it.

If I was a GM, I'd actually be highly tempted to sit down with AI, offer him a year deal at the minimum (non-guaranteed), explain to him the role you want him to play, and tell him he'll be cut at the first sign of trouble, no second chances.

True it's a low-reward scenario even if he acts in line, but I'm certain he's learned some hard lessons he can teach the youngsters.... right?

After no NBA team showed interest in signing him last season, Iverson agreed to a two-year, $4 million deal contract with Turkish team Besiktas. He returned to the United States shortly into the season because of a right calf injury and never returned to Turkey.

He quit the Turkish league but expects to be taken seriously by the NBA?

I think that says it all right there.

Ironically I thought of him today on my way to work because I saw a guy wearing his Sixers jersey. We're talking about ... irony.

I would love to see it but I really, really doubt it will.

I'm a Lakers fan and think he'd be a great fit. They really need a scorer in the backcourt off the bench. Fisher and Blake were awful last year running the point, so he could help out there a little bit too. The locker room is strong and they can deal with any distractions he brings.

He wouldn't be able to play with Kobe on the floor much, but at 15-20 minutes a game, he could be very effective if he'd accept that role.
