So let's do the driving test now. Is that your car? the one wedged under the fallen masonry? Ok, tell you what, I'm gonna go back inside and get my helmet.

My wife's driving test in the US was over in 2 minutes. The instructor was impressed that she was driving a stick shift and passed her after doing a lap around the DMV.

Teaser: Which is why you're not suposed to drive to your road test.

Heh, when I was waiting to take mine, they told the kid in front of me that he was up. His mom waiting, he went, got his car, and pulled it up to the starting location alone. They instafailed him.

Instead of stopping, she hit the gas instead of the brake," he said, adding no citation had been issued to the driver.

I never even took a driving test. I took a written test (Which of the following shapes is a stop sign?) and my parents vouched for me. Mind you, I don't thik my parents ever had to prove that they are competent drivers.

Texas for the win.

/If you value your life, stay off the highways here in Houston

Please never ever ever let her drive. Ever.

She sounds fat.

When I was 17, I took my 16 year old girlfriend to take her driving test. My hot, blonde, miniskirted 16 year old girlfriend. She drove over two cones, parallel parked about six feet from the curb, rolled through a stop sign, and pulled into the parking space crooked after finishing the test. She still passed.

I didn't realize it at the time but, knowing her, the root cause of both the driving errors and the unearned pass were probably her giving the cop a handy while she was doing the test.

I had a friend who totaled two other other cars during her driver's test.

She's currently 28 - will be 29 in April - and still doesn't have her license. We're all better off for it.

On a side note, I'm 28, and I have siblings aged 23, 21, 19, 18, and 17. Only myself and the 23 year old drive. The 21 year old goes to school in Philly, so she has Septa (and her boyfriend) to rely on for transportation. But the 19, 18, and 17 year old STILL rely on my mom to drive them around. They have no desire or anything to get their licenses. The 19 year old specifically says he's afraid of everyone else on the road. Anything we can do to encourage these guys to get off their butts and establish some kind of independence??

Got to my driver's license test first thing on a Saturday morning, and there were already three kids waiting in line ahead of me.

Watched the first kid start the "road test" on the "test track" behind the DMV office. He blew directly through the first stop sign, and immediately was sent packing.

The next girl, obviously not watching the first one, rolled right through the first stop sign, too.

Much to my amazement, the third driver missed the very first stop sign as well, screeching to a halt about 10 feet past the sign. He was, at least, allowed to attempt the parallel park...but completely botched it.

Now it's my turn. I'm next up...in a line that has grown to 5 or 6 cars behind me. The instructor strides up to my driver's side window, leans in, and says, "Son, do you know what that first red sign means?"

I smiled and replied, "It means stop, sir."

He takes my forms, looks at the line behind me, jots something on his clipboard and says, "Congratulations, son! You passed."

/csb?

FTFA: adding no citation had been issued to the driver.

I'll remember this is if I ever get cited for ramming a building. Completely legal, apparently.

I nearly hit a pedestrian, managed to knock off the HP's hat by dynamiting the brakes during my driving test. Passed with no problems. The woman had walked into the street from between a pair of Suburbans without checking for cars.

/On the way home I hit a cat.
//26 years later my mom still thinks its funny, i still don't
