Hemorrhage or other odd discharge.
Imminent Delivery
Possibly some specific complaint, but not likely

Reasons for touching the area with more than a trauma pad(s):

Cord presentation or single arm/leg presentation during delivery.

Also, it's been 6 years since I went through EMT-B but, for an unconsious patient, a full trauma assessment means looking everywhere.

This guy did nothing wrong. Its called prudence. Women are known to occasionally bleed from their vagina, and this man was making sure that didn't happen to his patients. No different than checking a known diabetic's blood sugar.

Agreed, while he has added a bit of snark, with the wouldn't want to look at it reference, I'd say a good 80-90% of our customers are the elderly -- it is just the nature of the work, the elderly are more likely to have a medical issue.

Also have to agree with Mose, if possible, have a female partner when / if you have a female pt that requires "down there" to be inspected -- or at least another EMT / FF / FR / Warm Body in the back to cover you.
