Well, when Ross so openly courted Harbaugh, it was clear Tony was no longer welcome.

I'm willing to bet most of the success the Dolphins had that one season was because Parcells made a bunch of personnel moves. He stepped down and now nobody is masking Sporano's flaws.

Why fire him now? Might as well suck for Luck until the end of the season.

What speculation? Everybody knows Sporano is gone

Because Sparano will do the ultimate "screw you" and win three in a row at some point, probably.

The Dolphins were cool when Marino was still on the team... Yes... even old Marino. Not much since then.

I hope he doesn't go back on the donuts.

So much for the AFC East being a tough division because the Dolphins are a dark-horse.

Did you know they signed JP Losman? I mean...really? That's 1:59am at the bar desperate.

Maybe he put his stunna shades on so he couldn't see that the S FLA housing market is complete shiat.

/my house was worth 750,000 in '06
//now I'd be lucky to get 350,000
///not my fault, I bought for 250,000
////should have sold when I had the chance

Are you sure that he put his house up for sale, or was it fans putting FOR SALE signs in his front yard? Hell, it happens all the time in Texas with high school football coaches.

of the three winless teams the dolphins seem to be one or two close plays away from having won...colts and rams are down by 21 before the coin toss.

Just trying to disspell the "throwing games" rumors.

I heard about that the other day, I'm still laughing.

Yes I am a Bills fan, watching the dolphins misery is hilarious at least every part about it except they getting to draft luck. That part makes me want them to win a game somewhere.

Dolphins and Colts will tie for the worst record, either 1-15 or 0-16. The Colts will get the first pick because of strength of schedule and will pick Luck.

The Dolphins are damned. "Unlucky" 13 plays for years and despite being the best QB in the league (statistically), he never wins the big one. Then a guy named "Luck" comes along and the Fins can't get him despite epic levels of suckitude. A team that has a top 3 QB in the league gets him to groom for 4 years and the dolphins trade the number 2 pick for a former backup lineman from the cowboys.

Well, the Dolphins should be 2-4; they pissed away their leads in the games against the Browns and Broncos. Looking at the rest of their schedule... the only chance I see for a win is against the Redskins, at home. So 1-15, maybe.

The worse they do the better the lulz IMHO.

Having lived down here in S. FL the majority of my life and being a Pats fan, it's nice to see some of that "haha, you can't beat us no matter what" karma fark Dolphins fans.

I will say this though; I get a chance to see them "play" every week, and it's a farking joke what they put on the field.

I actually said to a friend of mine who is a Phins fan the other day, "dude, I've been there. It's only a matter of time before something clicks".

Then again, knowing the Dolphins, they'll find a way to miss drafting Luck (who I'm not completely sold on) and get some Lineman like Jake Long.

I'm objective as I can be not being a fan of any of the South Florida teams...but watching what they do is absolutely painful.

Call me crazy, but Sparano sounds a lot like Joe Pesci.

I'm kinda hoping he will do a Jim Zorn and just start calling a bunch of crazy plays so he'll get fired and keep getting his contracted money. There were a few games in Redskins-land that were kinda hilarious. While the crowd and the announcers were saying WTF? over a boneheaded call, Zorn just stood there, a slight smile on his face.

It is going to be even funnier when Luck turns into the next Leaf.

That was mostly due to playing a last-place schedule that one season, with an honorable mention to Chad Pennington. The 2009 team actually played better and would have made the playoffs again if they hadn't fluffed the last three games. That, and last year's shiat-flume ride were IMHO down to Dan Henning's personal vendetta against the concept of the modern NFL quarterback.

The problem with Sparano is he was brought in to be the mouth of Parcells, and continued to defer to the more experienced, zombie coordinator Parcells gave him. You could see him on the sidelines last year when Henning would radio in a play going "you want to run what? QB sneak on 3rd and 12? Again?" and then relaying it in like a good German.

The offense was going alright this year until Henne got hurt, but now Mike Nolan seems to be taking a year off. Maybe because he thinks he's next in line? Which he probably is, nobody else wants it.

No. I remember the pre Bledsoe NE, and they were bad, but nothing as bad as the Dolphins we've had to deal with since Marino got too old to play.

This team is bad.

My wife got me tickets to see them play the Giants Sunday, and I am going with a Giants fan. So while I will have a good time, I could easily just not watch the game. If the Dolphins forfeited the rest of their games and fired everyone players and coaches and front office alike, sold teh team to teh Steinbrenners and came back into the league next year through an expansion type draft, MAYBE I would have hope.

By all accounts Sparano was a very good o-line coach in Dallas. The poor performance of the running game in Dallas was blamed on his departure and the inability of Garrett to draw up effective run blocking. I'd take him back as an o-line coach for Dallas anyday.
