It's sad when two premier receivers like Owens and Randy Moss are basically pariahs to the NFL. Why doesn't the Dolphins hire either one and at least try to bring some fans back to the stadium?

Better than Roy Williams.

All three teams Moss played for last year had a better record without him than with him on the field. He's not a premier receiver any more.

The same for Owens. He's lost the speed that made him special.

Love him or hate him, you can't deny that T.O. is better than a majority of the starting WRs in the NFL.

To go with who should be the third pariah?

True dat. He's in impeccable shape, and if his ACL is good, he'll catch some TDs for the Bears. It's what he does. If they could just shut his trap after games, everything is good. I like TO. I just think he has a big mouth, with an ego that is insatiable.
Which puts him in the normal percentile range with most NFL atheletes that succeed.

Whoever's in the Rush front office should take over the Bears, immediately.

Supposedly an IFL team in New Mexico also offered him a contract.

/wanted my AFL team to offer LeBron a contract back before he'd made The Decision
//we called it too hokey
///now the team that the league is running goes and basically does the same thing

I was just making a public service announcement. This week all Bills fans are honorary Canadians, so we're super helpful.

Additionally as a Bills fan, I can truly understand the surge of delight you felt when you thought a division rival had signed an annoying should-be-retired athlete to help out their anemic offense. But I'm not sure I could have born the pain if I found out that JP Losman hadn't really signed with the Phins.

His animation and over-the-top energy would be an excellent addition in the locker room...

Uh huh. Just ask the Niners. And the Eagles, and the Boys, and the Bengals...

If he signed, who WOULDN'T want to watch TO get knocked over the boards into a metal railing?

2011-10-26 08:45:54 PM
It's almost like teams no longer care for aging primadonna locker-room cancers of questionable abilities.

Although oddly I kinda want to see him get a chance.

72 receptions 983 yards 9 TDs.
do you play to win the game?
there are a ton of teams who would improve with Owens

2011-10-26 10:31:24 PM
I told you Epstein would be agressive in his running of the Cubs!

(What? I'm sure he can play right field better than Fukodome did.)

2011-10-26 10:32:46 PM
Owens would be on a team IF he wasn't injured last year.

Coming off an injury, though? No chance for an NFL team.

Dr. C. Beavers: The guy has had a rocky past, but give him credit for shutting his mouth and playing well his past couple seasons.

and let's be honest, he has great hands, his speed might not all be there, but his hands would be as good as ever. And if you've ever seen how many dropped passes the Bears have, it's not speed they care about but good hands.

2011-10-27 12:39:20 AM
WhyteRaven74: and let's be honest, he has great hands

you're talking about the TO that frequently leads the league in drops, right?

/I still think it would be smart to pick him up if you need a WR
//he can't be as bad as Roy Williams

2011-10-27 02:02:34 AM
Paka Ono: Love him or hate him, you can't deny that T.O. is better than a majority of the starting WRs in the NFL.

He had more physical ability than most WR's in the NFL, and probably still does.

However, he also has a tendency to destroy any team he's on, which is why no NFL team is likely to take him.

He's never managed to understand that football is a team sport.

2011-10-27 03:15:55 AM
excellent work.

I was concerned, as TO is one of my favorites and the bears are just evil.

/TO would make that team better, no doubt.
//Then again, so would half of the guys that got cut by other team in training camp.

Glad I'm not the only one. Actually I only enjoy the dysfunction in so much that it causes distress among Redskins fans, all of whom seem to take the team's fortunes WAYYYYYYY too seriously.

I mean, the day of the Dallas game on Monday night, the Skins were Super Bowl bound...by midnight, Shanahan needed to be fired. Amazing.

2011-10-27 12:17:03 PM
There are several teams that could roll the dice and go for it. Several middle of the pack teams do have needs at WR, but I don't see it happening. TO is done in the NFL and he should just retire.
