From the linked New York Times article:

Americans squirt ketchup on an average of 9.74 meals a week, and households on average consume 1.3 bottles a month.

If I see any pinky fingers sticking out I may have to festoon it with an onion ring.

csb:
My grandfather spent some time in Europe during WWII, and my Gram noticed after he came home that he had started the habit of sticking his pinky out whenever he sipped his coffee. She didn't like this because she felt he was putting on airs for no reason. So one day they were eating breakfast and she got so sick of seeing that pinky finger that she stuck a donut on it. He never stuck his pinky out again.

My son will dip anything in ketchup - broccoli, grilled cheese, whateves.

I'll have ketchup a few times a week. It averages out.

There was a spell, I'd guess around 2000-2005, when just about every single recipe on the planet included balsamic vinegar. Now I see, it was all a plot by Heinz so the vinegar makers of Modena would glut the market, allowing Heinz to buy the stuff by the tanker-load as it fell out of fashion, and jack up the price on their ketchup. Nifty, if evil, plot.

Yes it does. That's almost the only thing it goes on, now that I think of it. Hot dogs, and french fries if you're out of mayonnaise.

I've had bottles, when it was just me and my daughter that i threw out because they went bad. That takes about two years. No that i am in a family of four, it takes about two months. But that's nothing compared to our salsa consumption. We are lucky if a jar lasts two weeks.

That was my very first thought, too. Hoping "up scale" meant the third ingredient WOULDN'T be HFCS.

If you love Sriricha and Tabasco you have got to try Louisiana Gold. Best damn pepper sauce around. I carry some in my bag for spicy emergencies.

not only do i like ketchup and/or mustard the rare occasion i eat a regular hotdog, when i eat a corndog at home, i make a line, about the length of the corndog, of mustard and ketchup on my plate, then i roll the corndog in it so it's completely coated in a mustard/ketchup mixture

I don't understand why people get all butthurt over what other people enjoy eating. Think it's disgusting if you want, that is fine, but to say I CAN'T eat it? Thems is fightin words. I'll eat whatever the damn hell I please, however I choose to eat it.

Hey, you can only do so much as a parent. When a kid breaks bad, they break bad. As lockers says, it can take as little as two months.
