I usually expect these lists to be a US/UK circle jerk, but how can you not throw in at least one John Woo movie with Chow Yun-Fat? The Killer, Hard Boiled, something.

2011-10-26 12:53:14 PM
Decent, not great, list.

Although "Rushmore" is a piece of shiat.

2011-10-26 01:00:26 PM
Some good films on there, but "Singles" - wtf?

2011-10-26 01:04:05 PM
The presence of Singles ruins an otherwise good list.

MeinRS6: Some good films on there, but "Singles" - wtf?

You're forgetting the intercontinental influence of Citizen Dick.
They had a huuuuge record break in Belgium.

But yeah.

2011-10-26 01:23:31 PM
They should have just put Steve McQueen up there, Bulllitt is not cooler than The Great Escape, or Le Mans, or The Thomas Crown Affair, they are all equally cool, because of McQueen.

Although The Great Escape also has Charles Bronson, James Coburn, James Garner and Richard Attenborough in it, so...

2011-10-26 01:27:09 PM
I hated Singles. It basically set the tone for 90s dating.

2011-10-26 01:27:50 PM
And what does Steve Bruce have to do with this list? He's nowhere near cool. Alan Smith, now he's cool.

2011-10-26 01:30:42 PM
No "Big Trouble in Little China"???

fail so very much fail

2011-10-26 01:33:39 PM
This list would be comfortable in a list of the thirty worst lists.

No Leon: The Professional or Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead or any other Gary Oldman films?!?

No Snake Plissken?

No Clint Eastwood?

Rushmore?!?

2011-10-26 01:50:05 PM
at least the subby turned on voting so that we could vote on the FARK 30 coolest movies.

FFS people. TURN ON VOTING.

Also, this-
www.bobgarontraining.com
No Sergio Leone?

there are two kinds of people in the world - assclown bloggers who make weak lists
and the farkers doing the cutting.

2011-10-26 02:10:57 PM
List is meaningless without Grand Prix.

2011-10-26 02:19:25 PM
Absent from the list:

Dirty Harry
Beverly Hills Cop
Predator
Casino

2011-10-26 02:29:19 PM
No Bourne or Bond.

No Jet Li or Tony Jaa.

But hey, Singles! What a fantastic turd of a movie. Not remotely watchable, but at least the soundtrack had some gems.

2011-10-26 02:37:10 PM
fark your list.

I dont see "Goodfellas".

2011-10-26 02:37:31 PM
I'd replace pulp fiction with North by Northwest and reservoir dogs with Aliens.

2011-10-26 02:37:56 PM
Redacted - I see it now.

The_Sponge: Absent from the list:

Dirty Harry
Beverly Hills Cop
Predator

The Dirty Dozen (the original "The Expendables")
Kelly's Heroes
Die Hard
The Great Escape
Goodfellas
Escape from New York
Oceans Eleven (the original)

2011-10-26 02:41:32 PM
A lot of good movies on the list but did that have to include that movie I don't like? WTF?

Deliverance

2011-10-26 02:45:29 PM
Jesus. I've only seen 8 of those. I only own two.

2011-10-26 02:45:53 PM
List fails without Enter the Dragon.

2011-10-26 02:47:21 PM
Okay, how in the fark do you stick a movie that was released 5 weeks ago on a list like this? Even if it is good (a 93% on RottenTomatoes indicates it might be), 5 weeks of theater time before inclusion is farking moronic.

2011-10-26 02:47:44 PM
Seriously, why do people like Rebel Without a Cause so much? James Dean's character is a whiny little biatch. "You're tearing me apart!"

AdolfOliverPanties: Decent, not great, list.

I agree it doesn't belong in THIS list but it's a pretty damn fun movie.

2011-10-26 02:48:13 PM
Shaft sucked.

Shane should be on that list.

2011-10-26 02:50:19 PM
The original "Death Race 2000".

Roger Corman at his campiest.

2011-10-26 02:50:42 PM
Whar Taxi Driver?

WHAR?

2011-10-26 02:50:47 PM
List fails without [movie that conforms to my personal definition of cool].

This and also...

Eastwood should have a similar distinction. Dirty Harry is not cooler than Josie Wales, High Plains Drifter, or Kelly's Heros. Equally cool because of Eastwood.

Tora! Tora! Tora!

The definitive Pearl Harbor movie.

Special bonus: no Ben Affleck and vomit inducing love triangle story.

Look, I know I'm probably the only Farker who thought Dazed & Confused was self-indulgent trash, and I'm cool with that. But the knock-off of Ocean's Eleven? Come on, that's just stupid.

And more important, where the fark are

and

?

And furthermore,

The Stealth Hippopotamus: No "Big Trouble in Little China"???

Casablanca is my all time favorite movie, so I respectfully disagree with your opinion.

Electric_Banana: Seriously, why do people like Rebel Without a Cause so much? James Dean's character is a whiny little biatch. "You're tearing me apart!"

Rewatch it. It's pretty fantastic.

It starts as some angsty teen movie, it turns into a drama when one dies and then it turns into Natalie Wood's father alienating her because she has become sexualized to him - he doesn't like kissing her any more, but kisses the younger daughter because that is okay. James Dean's crushed because his father is emasculated because the wife is the alpha in the relationship and it disgusts Dean.

Fantastic movie.
