Rachel Maddow explains why Herman Cain's candidacy is a corporate run campaign.

Isn't the important point about Herman Cain's rise in the polls that it proves that the Republicans aren't racists?

Will that still be proof when they dump him next week? In the Republican universe, it still counts, right?

I'm of the opinion that the more politicians talk, the less people like them. So I guess subby makes sense.

Nobody in their right mind would pay for santorum.

I read an interesting editorial this morning on why a lot of people seem to like Cain: He's got simple answers for complex questions/problems. Never mind that the answers would never actually work. They're simple, dangit! He's like me! Simple! Lazy! Ignorant.

Amazing he's gotten this much reaction with so little funds and footing. I don't think he'll last much longer. Then again, never underestimate how far you'll get appealing to the lowest common denominator.

I'm trying hard to imagine a Republican candidate that would be acceptable to Ms Maddow. I'm pretty such its a mythical creature.

I swear Iowa does it for the lulz. I'm also willing to place a very large bet that Herman Cain will be washed out of the race in spectacular fashion before long.

I guess it's progress in the fact that they didn't disown him immediately due to the color of his skin, but if the only way a black man can get ahead in the party is by saying all other black people are "brainwashed", it still doesn't say kind things about them.

If I were in charge of the DNC's political machine, I'd start firing up the blagotubes to have blogger after blogger talk about how dangerous it would be for Palin to jump in as a third party candidate for 2012. Trolling her into the election is something I think Obama can actually pull off, after seeing his trolling record.

You're a racist for pointing that out. Herman Cain polling well is proof they love black people.

And, see, that's different from when they said that people voted for Obama because he was black to prove they weren't racist. Since this guy is a republican, they can use him as proof they aren't racist.

Gingrich is actually doing well in the debates. he comes off as the only one who isn't a complete loon. Too bad about all the Jesus/family values stuff that he feels obligated to toss out and remind me why I can't vote for him. At least people have wised up and dropped Perry and Bachmann.

I'm trying hard to imagine a Republican candidate that DOESN'T have close ties to the Koch brothers group "Americans for Prosperity". Frankly.

For that matter, since we're imagining Republican candidates, can I cook one up that isn't proposing the most batshiat policies I've heard in my entire life?

Cain has a habit of saying stupid crap and making a half-assed backtrack later on, sooner or later he'll screw himself up.

My friend Steve likes goats. People are always saying "Oh, Steve's really a goat person". No, he's not. If Steve were a goat person it'd be, like, "Hey, why's Steve eating that aluminum can?"

Frankly, I feel sorry for Newts wife more than anyone. I know, I know she has biatch written all over her but I don't care. Can you imagine going to bed every night knowing that fat, sweaty, pasty, blubbery cetacean will be naked and flopping around on top of you? I bet the smell alone is just unbearable. He probably has rancid breath too. He looks like the kind of guy with really bad breath. Then he probably makes her perform all sorts of weird sex acts with funny sounding names like the rusty trombone. So there she is, performing unspeakable acts on this graying, smelly obese dude while his enormous belly flops up and down. No one should have to suffer though something like that.

PanicMan: I haven't been able to stomach watching any of the debates. Do you have any polls, or rankings source to back this up? Thanks.

No, Sean's just an idiot. Gingrich spends almost his entire time complaining about the moderator or saying bullshiat. I think the only time he got to speak at the last debate was when he was trying to explain how negotiating with terrorists is never acceptable except when Reagan does it.

2011-10-26 10:22:33 AM
Cain is basically Palin without the looks and he's using this political campaign to get exposure in order to get a different job. He doesn't want to be president, that's why his simple answers make no sense. He hasn't thought them through because he doesn't feel it necessary.

The irony here is that Newt is probably the most dangerous out of all of them. The man is a complete sociopath. He doesn't care about anyone but himself, he doesn't believe anything he says, and everything that comes out of his mouth is pure manipulation. All he's interested in is power.
